Really great experience! I've been wanting to come here for a long time, back in my student days I walked past it countless of times but for some reason thinking I'd never be able afford it aha I was meant to attend here a few months ago with my friend but she got ill however the whole booking journey was a very pleasant one. This time I booked the Thai restaurant upstairs for my dad's birthday. Walking in from the 32°c heat the air con was welcoming. On the tappenyaki floor were wooden elephants and beautiful natural wooden tables etc. Upstairs was beautifully decorated with Thai carvings, paintings and wicker fish traps! I was greeted by name and we had the whole place to ourselves. The menu was diverse with starters costing between £7 to £10 and mains about £15 . After being served cold lemon water by a lovely waiter we chose between us chilli squid, chicken satay and crying tiger (spicy steak) for starters. The steak was a bit overcooked for my preference but it was beautifully cut and seasoned so it was still enjoyable although the side salad consisted of iceburg lettuce with no dressing etc. my dad's chicken satay was a lovely portion and looked tasty and my sisters squid was a nice size too. The coating didn't stick very well to it but still very pleasant. For mains my partner chose pineapple rice with prawns, myself yellow curry with crispy sea bass, my sister the chicken green Thai curry and my father the jungle curry . Despite the heavy-handed turmeric in the rice this was the closest thing we've had to pineapple rice since our Thailand trip . Was really fresh and tasty . My yellow curry was divine with perfectly cooked sea bass. Both my dad and sisters meal also looked fabulous! At the end they had remembered my dads birthday and brought out a candlelit dessert. Overall a very welcoming service with beautiful food just subtle tweaks though to make it perfect. I will definitely return.

Visited yesterday with two vegans, and two neurodiverse children, so we were quite a fussy table when it came to dietary requirements and specific food preparation. The staff were absolutely fantastic. They accommodated every need and checked with us along the way, laughed with us, and never once treated us like we were a bother. The food was absolutely fantastic. Considering the teppanyaki elements which are grilled to order right in front of you, it was all cooked perfectly and tasted fantastic. The sushi and other bits that were prepared in the kitchen were beautifully presented and so fresh. And my daughter who has very limited "safe foods" was catered to and ate more than I've seen her eat all week. 🙌✨ Finally, the atmosphere was second to none. The staff were all so welcoming and friendly. Whenever food wasn't being prepared they would find another way to keep us entertained and laughing. I'm Autistic and new situations can be so overwhelming, but I felt right at home within minutes of being there. I couldn't recommend this place more highly. 5* 🩵

Came here for a meal with colleagues and despite the restaurant being quite busy we were served our food in good time. We opted for the set menus for our large table. It's great value, you get really big portions (the soup was small as they're personal but they're the perfect size). The food is full of the amazing palate of Thai flavours, and is very well presented. The only dish that let me down was the green curry with bean curd, the bean curd was clearly burnt and tasted almost caramelised which didn't go very well with the green curry flavours. The staff are incredibly attentive and friendly and always came to clear our plates quickly. We also got to see a birthday celebration and it was so cheerful and fun with bells and cymbals to accompany the singing! (Joining in optional). The decor is rather typical for a Thai restaurant, and they have a nice large seating area to wait for tables to become available. I'd recommend booking here however. We wer seated in a corner away from the rest of the diners which suited our group fine. It was also nicely well lit where we were seated. This place is only a short walk from the train station so is easy to get to. I'd certainly recommend this place for events and large groups such as ours because of the very...

My partner and I visited Siam Tappan-yaki restaurant on a Friday evening. Upon arrival we were made to feel extremely welcome and immediately shown to out table surrounding a griddle area. Within minutes our drinks order was taken followed by the order for our food. We were early enough to benefit from the early diners menu, two courses for £15.95. I ordered the king prawn nigiri followed by Salmon teriyaki. My partner ordered Duck spring rolls and a beef fillet steak (£5 supplement).

We were then provided with a garlic mayo and soya sauce dip. The starters came promptly and we're extremely well presented.

As we tucked in to our starters the chef arrived and began to prepare the side dishes of fried potatoes and vegetables. Talent and enthusiasm were apparent in our chef as he tossed the potatoes to each of the diners one by one. I missed catching the first in my mouth, no problem though as I caught the second! Applause all round for the chef!

My salmon and my partners fillet steak were cooked to perfection before our eyes, and the taste was perfection!

High praise to the chef and the entire team, we will definitely be returning!

A 5 star review is not high enough praise for...
