The Cornerhouse — Restaurant in England

We had a surprise 50th birthday party last Friday night at the Cornerhouse…I have to say we had the best time ever! This venue is awesome! I would absolutely recommend this to anybody who wants to hold an event! It’s perfect, there is a nice mix in the function room where at one end you can have a DJ and dance to your hearts content, you can also mingle at the bar if that’s your thing and you can also have a nice comfy seat at the other end and sit and chat if you want to catch up…it’s a great lay out! I was in contact throughout from when we booked the venue until the actual evening with Sophie, she was brilliant, everything went smoothly and to plan, no hiccups whatsoever, we chose to take one of the buffet menus for our guests which the Cornerhouse did for us so thank you to Adela who worked hard in the kitchen for our 55 guests. The bar service was excellent too, our lovely bar tender was Chris who was great and very good at understanding us after we had had a few! Thank you guys! We held our 30th birthday party at the Cornerhouse in August and couldn’t' have been happier with how it all went. From the initial enquiry through to the event itself, all the staff were so friendly, courteous and helpful.

We were so impressed by the catering also, every need was met (gluten free, dairy free and vegan options all included without issue) and it arrived perfectly at the time we requested which was amazing for our event. We went for the pizza and fries option and everyone raved about the food.

The event space is lovely with plenty of room, even for a band, a bar and lots of seating too, so pretty with the fairy lights too - we didn't need to add many decorations.

We booked the Cornerhouse for our wedding evening reception and it was everything we wanted and more. We chose the Cornerhouse after visiting several times for the quiz due to its friendly, relaxed vibe and beautiful aesthetic. We chose not to over decorate the function room upstairs as it just didn't need it- the exposed brick and beams and twinkly light ceiling spoke for itself. Sophie was great at working with us to choose evening food options which went down a treat with our guests- I'm sure they were fighting over the chips at one point. Service was fast and friendly all evening with a great drinks selection at reasonable prices for a city centre venue.
