Whilst holidaying in Chester me and my partner decided to go on a boat tour. We picked some seats on the lower deck right above the engine (we were unaware of this at the time of seat selection). Approximately five minutes in, the driver came into our section and abruptly asked us to “get out of our seats” whilst he inspected something. He didn’t ask us to relocate to another floor nor did he inform us that he was about to do something dangerous. Within ten seconds we found ourselves cornered on the lower deck with no means of escape whilst boiling hot water (not oil as the captain so politely corrected us on) was spraying everywhere. When I say everywhere I mean EVERYWHERE. My partner literally had to hold up our picnic bag to shield us from the oncoming spray of hot water. Spoiler alert the picnic bag is ruined!!! As is any semblance of safety and security we felt whilst on an aquatic vessel. I would not recommend this company to anyone unless you want to spend 15 minutes fearing for your life and then a following 30 minutes trekking back to Chester town. PS. The “director” appeared when we docked but was more concerned with continuing the tour than attending to his customers. I am not one to post reviews but consider this a public service announcement and...

Had a great night on the mamma mia party but some things could be better. We were offered a small glass of either rose or white wine on arrival, which was nice. Food was not good, "bbq buffet" consisted of a poor quality burger, a chicken nugget, a sausage and some salad.

As you get on the boat they were already playing some ABBA in the background, which is nice but then half way through the night the DJ plays some random other music because he's run out of the hits. I'd suggest boarding to general songs then starting the ABBA party and only playing ABBA for the journey.

Great atmosphere, some people dressed up/in costumes and almost everyone got on the dance floor and had a good dance.

The boat doesn't go far, just goes up and down a small stretch of the river. We'd had a few drinks so only noticed this when we'd passed another boat for the 3rd time!

Would do a trip with the company again but would have dinner...

I did the 2-hour cruise on the "Lady Diana" (there are two sailings, at noon and 2.30pm). Most of the seating on the two decks is inside, but the windows can be opened for ventilation and there's an outside area at the back of the boat where you can take better photos! Friendly captain with a great sense of humour. Licensed bar and toilets on the lower deck. On the way out of Chester we passed some impressive Victorian houses with lovely terraced gardens and boathouses, there was a commentary that I had no difficulty hearing because there were not many of us on board. The rest of the cruise was out in the countryside, between leafy riverbanks and meadows as far as the Eaton estate and the Ironbridge. No outstanding landmarks but the scenery was pretty and I spotted herons, swans, geese and some very large dragonflies! We were well looked after all the way. A very relaxing way to spend a warm...

We decided to go on the half hour boat trip as it was a bit of a miserable wet day & this was a good way to see more of the city. The guys running the trip were friendly and it was simple to just pay on board. However, when it’s 15 mins in one direction and then 15 mins back, it goes very quickly and we weren’t sure it was quite worth the cost of the ticket. It’s mostly big houses & rowing clubs in Boughton that you see along one side of the river before the boat turns just after Dee Banks School and heads back to where you started. Parts of the commentary were interesting & a way to learn more about the history of Chester. I think the 2 hour cruise is probably more worth the money. They do have lots of really detailed accessibility information on their website though & have toilets on board but we didn’t use them.

Loved the boat cruise along the River Dee, if it's a nice day you can see some really nice and interesting sights. We ending up on the boat called Jackie, seated on the open top deck and for the most of the trip on the river told of all the history and famous landmarks on the way. Very informative indeed, finding out about the nearby Witches of Broughton and the famous hill where they tried them by rolling them in barrels, mostly to their death into the river. This is now known by the name of Barrel Well Hill, but used to be called Gallows Hill, because folk were also hung there also. Not to mention the Roman connection with the city along the River, plus old dwellings of some rich and famous. Well worth the trip, which takes in a lovely stretch of river, just down from The Groves 👍

Absolutely fantastic I will remember this trip for life. I took my wife and kids and little dog on the two hour iron bridge tour and it was very well put together freindly staff and boat captain. We sat on the top deck of the boat the mark twain as that's the area dogs are allowed but be wanted to sit there anyway. Downstairs is a bar area serving alcoholic and soft drinks that's fair priced we had a few ciders and it didn't break the bank. Tickets can be pre ordered from there web page this is what we did and they where expecting us. My son has low vision but still managed the boat safely. There's so much to see on the river and there's a audio guide on the boats radio telling all the facts of the area.
