Sunitras Thai Restaurant — Restaurant in England

A group of us came to this restaurant. We all ordered different meals from the menu, and everyone commented on how excellent the food was. Everything was nicely presented, the meals were delicious and cost including drinks was very reasonable making for an affordable meal out. It is a small restaurant but service was excellent and the staff were friendly, helpful and very welcoming, and regularly came back to the table to enquire if we wanted more drinks and to ensure we were enjoying our meal. Richmond has some very nice restaurants and this could well be one of the best. Certainly it is somewhere we all intend to revisit whether as a group or individually. What a lovely little find, we found ourselves looking for dinner on an overnight stop on route to Scotland, a quick Google search and we found Sunitras, the restaurant was small, but the atmosphere was friendly and relaxed, almost like dining in a friend's lounge, the staff were fantastic and very attentive, then we got to the food, the menu is small, but certainly not lacking in options, between the 4 of us we had 3 different starters and 4 different mains, all were packed full of flavour and tasted amazing, if it wasn't for the 4 hour drive, we would certainly become regular customers, although we do intend to be...

I wasn't sure what to expect given the mixed reviews. The restaurant is tired looking but if you can see past that the food is really good. The service was good, very polite but also trying to help out in the kitchen so I can see why people think it's slow. Our waitress was very attentive otherwise. Starters of dumplings and ribs were excellent, as was Pad Thai and Thai green prawn curry with coconut rice. The flavours are really good, seasoned well and nothing could be added.
