Suttons Coffee Shop — Restaurant in England

We typically finish our holiday with a breakfast out and after some extensive searching on Google and Trip Advisor we settled on Suttons. No problem with getting a table even though trade was steady. The menu is very extensive, the rules / guidance for the caffe was almost as extensive (I do say this with a sense of humor). It all makes sense to tell people to queue to the right so they can bring food out to the left and they must have had to say this a million times to people.

I ordered one Suttons breakfast, one normal breakfast, one veggie, a tea, coffee and a milk shake, which came to just under £30, given the quality of the ingredients this was a fair price, nothing was too expensive. I judge a breakfast by the quality of the sausages and these were very nice, probably butchers sausages.

My only gripe and this is where the 1 star is lost - was the time to be served and the time for the food to be brought out. There were perhaps three people ordering in front of me and they all had lots of little complexities in their food order, then the drinks order, all made by the same person taking the order, put on a tray then you pay, and off you go for your food to be brought out to you when prepared. This approach would be fine but things like hot chocolates and specialty coffees take a little extra time.

I would like to balance this by saying the lady was working flat out, anyone else I seen was also working flat out, but they needed someone taking orders, someone doing drinks. Maybe that's the normal way, this was my first visit so I can't judge entirely.

Please don't be put off by this review, I don't want to sound overly negative, just be aware of the time factor. I will certainly go back as it was good quality at a good price and ultimately not a rushed experience which was nice.

Also, they will take cards but prefer cash because of a slow card machine.

We went in 3 times the lady with short hair was lovely but on the last day was was not good as we had bad customer service off another lady but the Food wa lovely the lady with the long grey hair was very rude and asked what I wanted said plain omelette then said sorry mushroom omelette she said well that not plain is it really horrible then my friend ask for ice coffee she came back with latte coffee he said sorry asked for ice coffee she said I don't think you did he said I did look at your note pad she said forget it that...

Polite and helpful a shop that has changed from a grocery provision shop in 1870,s to coffee shop come family restaurant now. Given the lack of of free seats in the restaurant it is clearly very popular with older residents of Town
