We've eaten at The Brendon Arms several times over the years, with our last visit being yesterday, the end of April 2024, on a Tuesday evening. We booked, which is definitely advisable. We wanted a table in the bar, which is where well-behaved dogs are allowed. There are three or four tables for 'four' and about half a dozen tables for two, so dining in the bar is a bit of a premium. We had a table for four in the bar. The menu is very good, with gluten free and vegetarian options available. Plenty of beers on draft including a Beavertown IPA. For the four of us we had two pies, a steak & ale and a steak and Guinness; both really very good, plenty of rich thick gravy and packed full of fairly sizeable pieces of steak 😋. Then two smaller bite options, a small cod and mash potato with homemade coleslaw and a lasagne with garlic bread; again both very good. The meals all arrived together. For deserts my wife and I shared the fruit sponge with hot custard; very yummy. Our mums had a decaf cappuccino and a regular latte. The service was very good. The staff were polite and friendly. The bar was nice and busy, so the atmosphere was good. There's plenty of parked, shared between The Brendon Arms and The Falcon Hotel (both host love music). There are several accessible parking spaces at the front of both premises plus some additional parking in the street. A very nice evening with nice drinks and food 😋. Level 9 Google reviewer; 1,000 plus reviews, 1.5 million views and over 12,000 photos with over 50 million views and still going strong 💪. Although I'm not enamoured with Google and their service at the moment 🤷🏻‍♂️. They're inconsistent. Check out my other reviews 🌟 🌟 🌟 🌟 🌟.

I cannot comment on the rooms as we didn’t stay overnight. We were all set to go out for Tapas when we realised almost everywhere in Bude is closed for food on Sunday evenings 🤦‍♂️🤣. We managed to get a table here due to the lovely woman running the food/restaurant squeezing us in. I had the gammon which was very nice. Juicy meat with a high quality egg. Nice chips, plenty as a portion. My wife had the lasagna which she said was okay but a bit mushy, she assumed from being frozen. We parked on the road outside but there are various car parks an easy walk away. I noticed to the far left of the pub (as you look at it from the road) is an accessible path up to the pub for wheelchair users.

This pub is great, and sorry for not reviewing before as been coming to Bude for many years. Spent the week in Bude and visited a few times for lunch time drinks and also had two meals here. Staff very friendly, food was excellent I had a lovely fish and chips, burgers were nice, and my life really enjoyed her ploughman's. Prices are reasonable, we managed to eat outside in the great weather but the restaurant side looked a pleasant place, gents toilets very clean and looked newly renivated. If you are in Bude and fancy a drink and or food pay the Brendon Arms a visit.

Nice enough place to have a quick drink and a bite to eat but not good value for money for an overnight stay. We stayed 2 nights and paid £100 a night which is expensive. The room was just OK. Smallish room, not particularly nicely furnished and a tiny TV on the wall. If you sat on the loo and the door was opened you banged your knees. The bathroom should therefore have had a sliding door. The shower was the absolute pits. You cannot charge £100 a night and put an electric triton shower in, which kept going hot and cold with no water pressure. To add insult to injury we were asked to strip our own beds at the end of our stay " because of COVID." What does that even mean ? So the cleaning staff can't touch the used bedding ? Unbelievable. We'll charge you £100 a night , why didn't they just ask us to clean our own room and have done with it ? The breakfast was poor. Normally I would complain but they seemed to be short staffed so I let it go. The worst scrambled egg I have ever had. Cold , way overdone....anyone running a kitchen knows scrambled egg should always be freshly cooked to order not left on a hotplate. BASIC. The vegetarian sausages were those frozen vegetable fingers with mashed potato and peas in..excuse me ? Beans were not hot, hashbrowns undercooked and soggy.Mushrooms were not freshly cooked either. If you can't staff a kitchen keep it closed. I would not stay here again. Not a chance. I can get a king size bed, a big TV and a power shower for half the price up the road in the Premier Inn. Two stars and that's...

IN the few days we in Bude we notice how busy this pub was. Often there was no tables available when we were looking for an evening meal. Not that is a bad thing, definitely points to an establishment that is both popular with locals and visitors so we made a plan.||We decide on a late afternoon visit and we did manage to find a table outside. Decided to just have a glass of wine to start and enjoy the activities around us.||The pub has a great atmosphere, even just sitting outside.||We decide to order our food as the pub was starting to fill up. We hadn't realised that England were playing football that evening.||The staff here are very friendly and helpful, having ordered our meals we waited expecting a delay due to the football. Not these guys this place is so well organised that they appear to take a little thing like a football match in their stride. Our meals arrived in no time and we really enjoyed them. Cod and chips were just excellent.||We then sat back enjoyed our wine and the atmosphere of the fans as they enjoyed the football.||This is a great pub and the food is excellent, would recommend this establishment to anyone looking for a god value...
