If you’re in Kendal, The Garden Cafe and Takeaway is a must-visit, especially if you’re after a top-notch vegan experience. I had the Beyond Burger in a brioche bun, and it was incredible—flavourful, juicy, and absolutely satisfying. The environment is warm and cozy, perfect for escaping the chilly November weather in the UK. The service was fantastic too; the staff were both friendly and genuinely helpful, making the experience even better. All in all, this cafe combines great food with a welcoming atmosphere. Highly recommend!

Wow, this place is a real vegan gem in the Lake District! The cafe was very contemporary and stylish, the service was friendly and the food was delicious... some of the best we've had in the UK! We thoroughly enjoyed the bacon cheezeburger, walnut pate on sourdough and pastrami sandwiches... finished off with coffees and a slice of chocolate cake (see pictures). All well-priced comparatively for the area. A must-visit for vegans and non-vegans alike!

This is an absolutely fantastic cafe. We always eat here every time we visit the Lake District. The staff are wonderful, so kind and friendly, and the food is phenomenal. There are two tables outside, which are perfect in the sunshine and inside it has a lovely cosy atmosphere. They do iced coffee, and superb pancakes 🥞 They are some of the best vegan pancakes I've had. I would also highly recommend the egg mayo sandwich.

Delicious!

(Just came back to edit my review as had to ask where the burgers were from again! 😄).

I firstly had the "BLT" for breakfast and as I mentioned above, it was really delicious! I really liked the choice of bun too as it made it even more tasty.

Then I went back later to pick up their vegan cheeseburger to take on my journey and WOW!!! Definitely one of the best vegan burgers I've ever had! The burger was amazing and the "cheese" too. The whole thing was blumming gorgeous!

Oh! And the staff were all very lovely and friendly too. ☺️

But where was the burger...
