Stopped for Sunday dinner with my partner, wow, what a great choice!

I’ve never been particularly fond of roasts, too many hangovers, being forced to sit at the family table for hours when all I wanted was my bed. Well… now all I want is to visit Northern Wines Ramble again…. Sensational!

The staff are fantastic, lovely lady serving and a cool chef working his magic. The venue cosy, homely, great tunes playing creating a fantastic ambience.

The beef comes rare, tears apart wonderfully - and a very generous portion, the layered potatoes - to die for, the parsnip balls are amazing, the gravy - I want to bathe in it (okay a bit excessive but you get the drift).

The only thing I would wish for, is to be able to gift this wonderful team a larger premises so more people could enjoy their wonderful food!

Over and out 🫡

Ps the Feta Cheesecake - I didn’t believe in Jesus until I saw this chef - a miracle...

Overall tasty and well-executed food and great wine. I started with tenderstem broccoli with sticky mushrooms and gochujang mayo. The broccoli was excellent, tender and flavorful and the mushrooms went excellently. The gochujang mayo was good but I found there was too much of it and it overpowered the other flavors. Next, dry aged rump steak with green peppercorn sauce and fried new potatoes. The rump steak was excellent: tender, flavorful, and the peppercorn sauce was deliciously umami and spicy. The new potatoes were good but a bit confusing. I wouldn't fry new potatoes so intensely they kinda lost their freshness. Otherwise very...

Stopped in for a glass of wine and some ‘small plates’ for an early evening on a Friday.

Superb.

Delightful young couple running the place (is it PC to say that??).

Food was delicious.

Wines were delicious too.

The couple who run it are very knowledgeable and obviously quite passionate about what they do. The wines were off the beaten track, really well chosen and they described them simply and well. The food was lovely, fresh and tasty without being pretentious.

Great place, well worth a visit and we will be back for sure.

No photos of food from me, I was there to enjoy eating it, not to make a...

My boyfriend was gutted that he couldn’t leave another review, so he hijacked my phone instead. Small plates was 10/10 so I assumed that the Sunday lunch would sadly miss the mark, but I am glad that I was wrong. Pork Belly was top tier, Yorkie was hard to beat, Stuffing was impeccable, Potatoes were banging, Gravy was like liquid gold but the Parsnip Croquettes, wow (no words, just smiles). Wine was obviously elite The Pudding felt like the part in Ratatouille where Emile tries the grape and cheese together. Ten Ten, will be back

This is an amazing and intimate restaurant, Harry and Stacey have excellent knowledge, and a great deal of experience in the wine making process and showcase some of their own produced wine in Kendal as well as an assortment of other wines that have been specially selected. The food menu changes regularly with seasonal ingredients used, some of my favourites include the posh chips. Will definitely be back soon.
