The Pocklington - Luxury Aparthotel — Hotel in Great Britain

I recently stayed at The Pocklington in Leicester and had such a amazing experience that I had to share it! I booked the Bradgate Suite, from the moment I walked in, I was struck by how bright and airy it felt thanks to the high ceilings and big windows that let in loads of natural light (I'm obsessed with natural light!) The entire place was spotless and you can really see that a lot of thought and care has gone into every detail.

One of the things that stood out most was the beautiful mix of old and new. Unique antique pieces are dotted throughout the apartment which brilliantly complement the modern design, giving the whole place a stylish yet welcoming vibe.

The hotel is made up of 12 one and two bedroom apartments, each uniquely named after something connected to Leicester. Every apartment even has a little story behind its name, giving you a fun insight into the city’s character and history.

Perfect whether you're travelling solo, as a couple, or even with the family. The location couldn’t be better. If you're into shopping, you're sorted! You can easily spend the whole day exploring nearby stores. Food lovers will be spoiled for choice with all the great places to eat and there’s no shortage of entertainment either - all within five minutes' walk. Leicester’s famous Golden Mile is also just a short distance away, packed with vibrant Indian restaurants, sweet shops and cultural gems.

Communication throughout my stay was excellent, and the whole experience was smooth and stress-free.

The Pocklington is really lovely and was perfect for us as we were in Leicester to see my niece in a show at the Haymarket Theatre. The location was perfect with so much on your doorstep and the theatre and centre only a short walk. There is a multi storey car park round the corner which is locked at night offering piece of mind.

The apartment itself was spacious and designed for a luxury feel with a raised free standing bath in the large main bedroom. There was also a nicely designed second bathroom with sleek glass and black walk in shower. This is the only shower serving both bedrooms. There is a large en suite loo and sink in the first bedroom which I think could easily house a shower and would be more practical and convenient if there were four adults sharing the apartment. I also think because the rooms are so large that they could take bigger beds to really go for that luxury feel but not a complaint more a suggestion as it was very comfortable and I slept really well. We were also offered use of a boutique gym but can't comment on that 😂

The only quibbles we had were that I received a lot of automated messages in the lead up to our stay asking me for things that I didn't need to do as had booked through Airbnb, which was a little confusing and we couldn't get the WiFi to work but didn't matter for us and I'm sure would have been resolved if raised as Kyle the host always responded to any messages or questions almost immediately.

The apartments are beautifully presented with lovely bathrooms and immaculately cleaned and prepared for guests.

The check-in instructions are clear. Including access, WiFi, and amenities. Car parks are 3 to 5 minutes away.

Sophie, who is the main point of contact, is absolutely brilliant with any additional questions.

We stayed for 3 nights. The graduate is next to Firebug a Leicester institution. It may be noisy for some, but ear plugs are provided. And if you're here to party anyway, it shouldn't be an issue. If it was the last apartment available, I would take it. And it will likely be our first choice because we like the setup.

The location is fantastic with so many restaurants and live music venues and independent shops, etc. The Lanes, St Martin's Place and High Cross all within 5 minutes walk.

I would stay there for 3 nights minimum to soak up Leicester City any surrounding Leicestershire.
