Visiting Wells, I looked online for what we might like to eat. King's Head were advertising feed a family of four for £25 when u order before 6pm! Their mains list (that already form a two for £18 offer) was extensive from steak salad bowl, to burgers, lasagne to vegan chicken style tikka. The kid's meal was a choice of multiple popular kid's food, with several carb and veg options, and an ice lolly. The staff were very friendly, helpful and accommodating. The building is beautiful and there's multiple seating options, quiet corners, large tables. The food arrived quickly, on warm plates and was all prepared, cooked and presented just right and was delicious. The staff couldn't have made a nicer experience and when I thanked them, I was shocked to hear their boss is away! U wouldn't have thought it. Thank u all so much! We'll b back 😆

I wanted to order food and drink to the bar, after waiting few minutes and being deliberately ignored, a very rude staff suggested me to find a table and take a seat, they will come to pick up my order. I did what I been told to do, found a table, after 10 min waiting I went back to the bar, finally I placed my order. When the drink was served another "polite" staff asked me to come to the bar to pay for my order. The food wasn't great, nobody bothered to check if it's OK. The venue was freezing cold. I don't recommend

I organised a group of hungry cyclists to eat at the Kings Head on 2 evenings in May 2024 and we had the best nights, great service, great value. Everyone ate their food, the menu was varied so pleased everyone and the staff were so accomodating. I'd have no second thoughts about returning here. The pub handled 23 hungry diners perfectly, we prebooked and had a private room, food came quickly and was tasty and hot. Brilliant!

We arrived and found a table where a friendly waitress came and took the drinks and food order, at 12:30. I ordered the 3 for £15 small dishes. My family and friends ordered other meals. The drinks were bought out to us in speedy time. My 3 small dishes came 45 minutes later with the waitress saying “the others will follow shortly as a mistake was made where the team thought that these were ordered as starters”. Even though the menu does not state the small dishes are for starters! I had to eat the small dishes we my fellow diners watching with hungry bellies. Once I had finished eating I asked the waitress “how long the others would be as my family and friends were hungry. “ 15 minutes later the head waitress came over to repeat their mistake and offered to buy us another drink. Which we declined as food was more important as my friend is diabetic. I asked how long it would be. We were told that the dishes were being plated up and would not be long. This was at 13:30! We waited another 15 minutes before asking again. We finally decided to get up and leave at 14:10. What made us leave was being lied to and more upsetting was food kept being taken to other tables that were seated after us. Then the head waitress had the cheek to over charge us...

Having been recommended to have lunch in the King’s Arms we were looking forward to our meal. Unfortunately our experience was far from pleasant. The barmaid was polite and personable. Having made our selection from the menu we tried to order only to be told that there were no burgers or any salad available; much to our surprise. Nonetheless we ordered the five small plates for £27.50. The food took approximately forty minutes to arrive and was delivered by an unkept young man with a pink cowboy hat around his neck! We were told that there was no sour cream for the nachos so they had to “wing it”. The bowl of nachos showed no resemblance to the photo on the menu; just a few tortilla chips with a small amount of cheese and some sort of orange/pink sauce on top. We regret not sending it back immediately and not taking a photo of the dish. There were only five small halloumi fries which were tasty, however. The duck spring rolls had but a slither of duck in them and were mostly tasteless. The goujons were quite good but only three of them. I realise that these are small plates, however, minute would have been a better description in three of the dishes. Our...

Dreadful experience. Arrived for a quick early evening drink (December 29 approx 7pm) and from the wait point we were offered a table by the Barman behind the bar. Before we could enter we were stormed at/approached then repeatedly shouted/screamed at by a female "maitre d'" at the entrance door "I need half an hour, I need half an hour". When asked quietly to let us speak so she could know what we wanted, she turned on her heel and stormed away hands in the air. Clearly she was not coping on what appeared to the outside world as a regular early evening with free tables for casual drinkers available. We did not want food service. I'm at a loss what was going on as absolutely no explanation or apology was given. It appears training is lacking, staff are in severe need of training and management/coordination. A town centre pub will not survive without a decent experience for visitors walk ins and locals alike. Clearly no sense of customer service exits here. The "maitre d" needs replacing as it takes a long time to build a reputation when you are new and even...
