Long Story Bistro — Restaurant in England

The cafe looks nice and the food I had tasted good. Two of my friends ordered bacon Brie and cranberry sandwiches. When the server bought us our food she bought us a chicken and bacon salad instead. She was incredibly rude when I insisted that neither of them had said chicken and bacon salad and that there must have been a mix up. She wouldn’t take no for an answer and said we’d asked for chicken and bacon salad when I know that none of us did because none of us ordered anything with chicken in so she couldn’t have even misheard us and was obviously not paying attention when we ordered. Our order was not read back to us either to check it was right. My friend said she knows she ordered the sandwich and the server got annoyed saying she would have to go back and cook it leaving us feeling extremely uncomfortable. My friend said she’d have to just eat the salad because she didn’t want to wait for the sandwich to be cooked as we hadn’t eaten in the day yet and it was 2pm. She put the plate down in front of her and that was it no apology. When I went to pay they charged me for the salad which was more expensive instead of letting me pay for two sandwiches after THEIR mistake. Felt very uncomfortable the whole time the server was very confrontational and rude and didn’t apologise once there were only three orders for food we couldn’t have possible said the wrong thing as literally none of us wanted anything with chicken in. A quaint little place with a very big atmosphere. The staff were very friendly and the food was delicious. After myself and my friend found a table to sit at, a staff member came over and gave us menus.

We sat and looked at the menu for about 5 minutes when a staff member came over and asked for our order. At first we believed him to be a very friendly local, going round the tables and just generally being friendly. When we realised he was our waiter, we had a chuckle. It took 5 minutes for our food to be served and it was both delicious and hot
