We visited this pub while in York, it was a lovely, dog friendly local pub, we enjoyed the music and ppl, the two barmen was really friendly, and it was very clean. And you could get a pint a large wine and a packet of nuts for under a tenner. Absolutely brilliant, definitely will be back next time we visit York

Great little English pub. Very friendly staff. A selection of beers both on tap and bottled, all very reasonably priced. An alfresco beer garden out the back. One of many in the street. Well worth a visit and a bit away from all the "touristy " pubs. Well worth discovering.

Outside of wetherspoons this is probably the cheapest place for a pint in York you won't get ripped off here. Well kept beer and good music. Mind your head on the low ceilings if your over 6ft!

What can I say about this little gem of a place? We were struggling to find a traditional local pub with a friendly atmosphere, then we stumbled on the nags head. From the minute we walked in, we were welcomed as part of the community. We had a fabulous time and everyone was so friendly. We ended up in here everyday of our breakaway and made lifetime friends. Tom is such a kind, friendly, happy and fabulous man. We will never forget his generosity and how welcomed he made us. Thank you Tom and Co We will be back asap Love the 2 crazy Geordies, jess...

So I first visited the Nags Head on Sunday 18th Aug and the Barmaid, Emma had served me. Amazing service and very tentative. I was visiting for 2 weeks for a training course with work and had visited a few times during my stay. Every time I was there, Emma happened to be working. She is an absolute delight to the workforce and should deserve the praise! Jamie from Edinburgh(she’ll remember me) Go EMMA! and the rest of the Nags head crew! I’ll be back before...

Just been to Nags Head and my husband who is 62 was asked for ID at the door I was witlh him aged 62 also. We were a group of 5 women 7 men.. He was refused entry not sure why didn't give a reason. So you have lost all that revenue from York born residents who will never come in again. Discusted been coming in for years. Now spending our money elsewhere. Maybe you need to speak to...
