A shocking lack of kindness…
I had a very disappointing experience here. I urgently needed some water for my dog on a hot day. Public facilities nearby were unusable because the taps dispensed water mixed with soap. I approached this café, apologized for my unusual request, and politely asked if they could provide a small amount of water for my dog. The owner himself refused in a very unfriendly manner, saying there were customers behind me who wanted to buy coffee and that he didn’t care if dogs were thirsty. After sauntering down the pier of the lovely St Ives we began to lose hope in finding a coffee shop that would serve us a real flat white however we turned a little corner and lo and behold we found The Per Coffee Bar. A spotlessly clean an well appointed cafe serving Illy coffee, a first for me and really smooth. Amazing cakes on sale too. I had a kind of crispy croissant filled with hazelnut chocolate. Fantastic.
