Don't usually review places but.... VEGAN AND MEAT EATER CONTENT.

Great staff. hands down. This place didn't even come up when my girlfriend was planning for places to eat. Most places were booked and after wandering round found this bar and restaurant. Firstly they have an outside seating terrace out back, maybe ten tables and three more out front. Brilliant especially as every where else was full.... The food was great. They have multiple burger choices and nachos but they do it well! I mean it their burgers and chips are genuinely a cut above the rest and for you vegans- again this place doesn't even come up from a search but they are jammed of choices. Vegan cheese a must! and their 'beet' patties are in my top 3. Nachos... Vegan..... They're main beef burger.... Can all be changed to a vegan version. What's that??? Sticky toffee pudding. That's right, vegan. I had a chocolate ice cream, non dairy from round the corner and chucked it, it was that bad. So finding this place out my nose back into joint. Back to the burgers, They load up on the slaw, gherkins and sauce, patty is a big size and again, all round the best. Burgers are boring BUT when they do them just how they are supposed to be done, you'll forget the salmon or a risotto and go for the old faithful. And meat eaters, the staff were talking about the CHEFS SIGNATURE BURGER, and if I ate meat, boy, he had me a chorizo.

So many places we tried finding in advance and this place we happen to come upon. Amazing. Pints come in big hand held jugs. San Miguel, beaver town neck oil, IPA's. And outside seating away from the main Street.

Bearing in mind I was tired and irratable when I came here, still shattered when I left, but I was fed so well from a simple dish I had to go for it with this.

And I'll just add for good measure the menu clearly has VG and vegan all over it but my Mrs decided to go ahead and say do you have vegan options, trying to pull the old I'm vegan for the animal card, everyone look... And the guy instead of saying yer, it's marked up everywhere, he stood there and gave a full two minute run down of all the choices and variations until she was spoilt for choice. Fair play. I let her have it after tho.

**Just went back again and had their Summits Burger but the vegan version... Smashing stuff! Chipotle mayo with a vegan chilli bean added in, kidneys and lentils from what I could gather in a chilli mix with a great VG cheese and huge patty. Inhaled it and forgot to savour. (Crinkle cut crisps instead of straight cut are a game changer with a...

This review is fuelled by a cocktail sharing board and the best burger I’ve ever had!! We arrived and were promptly greeted and seated by friendly staff. Specials were explained and orders taken quickly. We had the cocktail sharing board which included 2 of the slushies and the house special. They’re mini versions of the cocktails, but to get 6 for £22 is ridiculously good value. Mate let me tell you, they all tasted amazing and were great quality, not watered down or made differently because they were smaller. Wowzers. With one of us gluten free, we felt confident in the restaurant’s knowledge and ability to make our food safely. We ordered 2 x the special- the Walla Dash burger. I can’t overstate how good it was. You would be mad to not get this (so long as you didn’t have an aversion to onion). I’ll be raving about this burger for the rest of my days. We also got the sweet potato fries- standard, no frills, just quality tasting fries to go with the homemade garlic aioli sauce which you get a whole bottle of at your table to aioli yourself to your heart’s content. We also got the supergrain salad which tasted great and like health in a bowl, which with the rest of our order made us feel much better about our life choices (Joe Wicks who??) The service was great, food amazing and value for money second to none. Fave restaurant in the Lakes for...

My family and I were visiting the Lake District sat 16th august and we were so glad to end the beautiful day we had at The Round, we had just come from a not so nice experience with another restaurant we’re we left as the service was so poor, when we came to The round we were greeted by the calm cool and collected Fern who accommodated all of my family, we all commented on how friendly and professional he was which immediately made us feel at ease we were then served by the friendly and professional Matt he was polite and explained to us clearly about the menu choices.

Then there was the food! Our burgers were exceptional! I don’t know if it was just the day or us but we really enjoyed the food you could really tell they had thought about the flavours and how to compliment each burger dish, I had the vegan burger and honestly I was tempted to order one more! We had such a nice experience with them that we had to let them know in person and to write this positive review as we also know it can be tough to work in a restaurant, and the way they handled them selves in very stressful situations was truly impressive!

We would like to thank all the stuff and Fern! At The Round, we can see why people were queuing up all night to eat there! You made our night and even though sometimes hard keep up the...

Our first visit to The Round after hearing so many positive reviews from our friends and family… First of all, we know that booking isn’t possible (annoyingly) and with it being a Saturday lunchtime we made sure to be there as soon as the doors opened… We’re glad we were, the place filled up quickly! 🏃‍♂️💨 For drinks, we opted for a pint of coke and a pint of blackcurrant with lemonade - both lovely and refreshing! For food, my partner had The Classic cheeseburger with plain crinkle cut fries - I’m not a huge fan of burgers so I chose the bbq popcorn chicken along with the bacon and cheese loaded crinkle fries, we shared the mac and cheese! All of the food was great but the chicken especially was delicious! My only criticism is that I wish there were more options on the menu for those of us who aren’t wildly excited by beef burgers… I’d like to see more chicken dishes (tenders, variations to the popcorn chicken, etc.) and maybe even hot dogs as additions to the menu. Overall, a lovely visit and the staff couldn’t have been more helpful and friendly - we will definitely be back when we’re in the area.
