The worst food ever. I ordered a burger and while I was told it will take approximately 1.5 hours, I was fine with the wait. The sign above the bar saying ‘we do not serve fast food, we serve good food as fast as we can’ was reassuring in a way, and honestly, I was expecting one of the best burgers I would ever have. I also ordered the soup of the day, so I have something small to wat while waiting. 2 hours and few drinks later, I was served a microwaved ready made vegetable soup mix.. terrible. I could not believe! Another 15 minutes, here comes the king - the famous Stacker burger! I am not a fan of MCDonald’s but trust me, their BigMac is the king compared to what you get here for £15! It took these guys 2 hours & 15 minutes to prepare 2 x burned frozen patties on plain supermarket buns, accompanied by deep fried low quality frozen chips and onion rings. So disgusting and so disappointing! While the staff was super nice & polite, this place desperately needs a new chef, God’s, and Gordon Ramsey’s help! Lake Road Inn, please, don’t bother replying to my post with comments in the lines of ‘the patties are from the local butcher, we’ll share your feedback’. Cumbria meat and burgers taste nothing like what your place offers. You know that very well. I am not coming back.

What can I say... the food didn't rock my world if I have to be honest. We knew there will be a typical pub food but I hoped it'll be better. As a vegetarian I ordered halloumi burger, just to be safe, because I thought you can't do it wrong. I tried to take a good photo but no matter what angle I tried it wasn't impressive. I had one slice of tomato, some lettuce and four slices of halloumi. The cheese doesn't look amazing but it tasted OK. The bap wasn't from the top shelf but all together it tasted ok. Addition of caramelised onions or some sauces would be better, maybe mushrooms, something which would make it more exciting. Chips were good too. My husband's steak and ale pie was good.

Disappointing. A nice modern pub, friendly staff and good covid precautions in place. The food however was disappointing, we both had the chilli, rice and nachos which was £10 each which was over priced for what is was. The sour cream and salsa came in paper cups which disintegrate. The chilli was cheap mince and basic. You would also have expected a larger portion for your money. The drinks were good and we had good service.

❌ Shocking Service ❌

After enjoying a lovely day out with the family, we decided to come here for food but what a bad decision!

We ordered our food at 18.40pm and were advised the wait would be an hour due to the business of the place which we didn’t mind.

After a wait of 1 hour 50 minutes, we received our food and half of the order was wrong. We advised them of the mix up and we explained we will cancel half the order as it’s took so long to receive the food. However, when the waiter checked in the kitchen the other half of the order was 5 minutes from being ready so we said that we will keep the order.

When the waiter handed over our meals, he spilled the chips on the table and then scooped up the chips and put them back in the bowl and placed them on the plate and started walking away. I had to actually call over the waiter to advise him I would not be eating the chips after they had been spilled on the table by him and then handled by him. He then went to the kitchen and came straight back with another bowl of chips which I then didn’t feel comfortable eating as I felt they had been poured into a different container. Another member of the public actually said the same thing and advised on their long wait. It was also more off putting by the waiters unkempt presentation and sloppy attitude/ service.

We advised the bar staff of our poor experience and were refunded £10 which I feel was disgraceful considering we had spent a fortune in drink and had such poor service and not even an apology.

The food was of very poor quality and stone cold so the food was definitely not worth the wait and I will not be returning. If the restaurant is busy I would definitely steer clear to avoid...

Tried this out tonight. Never been to the area before and came here this morning on Holiday with my partner and a friend. With no local knowledge and two dogs in tow we walked up and down the high street until we stumbled upon the “Lake road Inn” first impressions looked good a nice simple menu, stating fresh food, outside seating and of course the all important dogs welcome sign. We ordered two burgers and a chicken and I think leak pie. Our suspicions started once the food had turned up within a few minutes of ordering and I literally mean minutes. Anyway having been in a car for 7 hours to get here pitched a tent in record time and walked the 2 1/2 miles down into the town were we where grateful and ready to enjoy a good pub meal. Needless to say unfortunately this was not the case. What a disappointment I have never had such a flavourless burger in all my life and worse of all my partner had happened to grab a supermarket microwave burger for lunch the other day in a rush and said it was ten times better. The icing on the cherry was the fact the waitress walked over towards saw that we hadn’t touched our food after our initial bite and simply turned and retreated. Defiantly not worth the £12 / £13 price tag. A real disappointment and would urge others to avoid at all costs. I’m sorry if you may think this review Is a little harsh but I feel I have been honest with...
