We often spend time in Fitz Park every time we visit Keswick. It's the quieter of the two parks in Keswick and is split in half by a road. You can access the opposite side via tunnel, which is much safer if you have kids. One half has tennis courts, bowling greens, putting and on this visit - croquet. Plenty benches for seating dotted around the park. The river running through both sides is easily accessible and we regularly picnic on the grass embankment, watching Malard Ducks, Dippers, Wagtails, Grey Heron and even a Kingfisher. The other half of the park houses Keswick Museum and Cafe, exercise equipment, large play area for kids, the local Cricket Club and Football Grounds. It's lovely to sit back, chill and watch a game of either. The car park is great at £3/day with choice of ticket machine or the honesty box. We use the latter as the proceeds go to the Football Club. The park is also great for joggers and dog walkers - distance markers line the circular route. Plenty open spaces for dog to run off lead. Definitely...

Will be a regular place for us to go and visit no doubt, handy the dogs are allowed into the stream though with rocks can make the dogs a bit unsteady...
