Amazing pub, lovely environment with great people and fantastic beer. AND FANTASTIC FOOD. There's always an array, always something new. It's dog friendly, which is great if you have a dog - but don't worry, if you don't like dogs you can get away outside or in the other room. It's only a small place, but the people who run it are fantastic and hilarious people who work very hard and will alway be willing to advise you on what to choose for the week, especially if you let them know what you usually like. They also do food - I can't wait to try the ostrich burger! They've won the CAMRA award for best pub and they deserve it... Definitely go here!
I have now tried the ostrich and the elk burger! I must say, both are delicious, I was going to write a whole separate review, but Google won't let me. What I can tell you, is that my parents thoroughly enjoyed the dirty fries, so much so that they've ordered them several times. Personally, I've loved the burgers - the elk is so good that I'm struggling with myself over whether to try more or simple come back for more elk! We sampled as many as we could by having 'thirds' all nicely kept and enjoyable.. Ales such as Hammer Head Stout, Hadouken, Small Step, Henrietta, Joint Effort and Hair of the Dog.. Left us wishing we had found this place earler in the day and before we had visited at least nine other pubs with very average offerings. Wholeheartedly recommend the tap House and looking forward to revisting when their Micro Brewery comes live. ...

We were welcomed very warmly and the drink selection was SUPERBLY competitive.
The bar was busy so we were happy perching at the bar, just chatting and taking in the atmosphere. Beer and cider selection were stellar
Suddenly we were graciously offered seats at a table with the owners who were very, very friendly and asked us what brought us to town. Suddenly we were offered samples of their home brewed beer which was fantastic. The banter flowed and we felt like locals. It's an experience that simply doesn't happen any more.
It ended up starting as a mini bar hop and ended up as ending up at the best place in town.
You're welcomed and you hate to leave.
Also please say hello to Ted the Dog. He deserves so much love.
The prices are super competitive and the reception is as warming as a winter soup. Please,...
