Read moreI have lived in Thirsk for 2 years, upon returning from living abroad. Every month we try a new place for a meal. I arrived on my mobility scooter and parked next to vomit up the exterior wall. Once inside I approached a young lady who was a staff member and informed her she would need a bucket of water to sluice the vomit off the wall as it was near the entrance. She carried a small bowl out; when I left, the vomit was still there. On entering, I greeted and asked if it was okay to go into the restaurant, once I was seated I realized we had to download an app to be served. The app did not have a place where I could ask for my bacon to be soft or my egg to be turned over. Except for the toast, this was awesome and by far the best part of our meals. Sadly I can honestly say I would not recommend this hotel for food. I feel I wasted my money. I would not have paid for it if I had not prepaid for my meals on the app before seeing what I was served. It felt impersonal having no contact with any breathing person, not even a greeting, which may have been okay during the Pandemic, but I know from running a hotel abroad, there is nothing like the...
