The Wetherspoons as a pub was a spoons - needs a bit of a fix up - well major fix up just dark and dim and dated. The Wetherspoons as a hotel- absolutely ATROCIOUS! We stayed in room 3. Online it’s advertised as disabled friendly and family friendly. Yes there is a lift however it only provides access to 2 rooms. When we checked in we were told to take the baby in the pram around the back and up the lift it was a lot easier to access the room, what they didn’t say was you have to take the lift up to floor 2 to then carry the pram down the stairs to floor 1 while also trying to navigate the doors and the floor that’s on a bit of a slope. We bought our own travel cot however the baby couldn’t sleep in it because the floor is so uneven he kept rolling to the edges of the cot. So he ended up in the exceptionally uncomfortable bed with us which made for a delightful sleep for us all. The bathroom in the room was awful. It’s all so dated and tired! We would have been better off sleeping in the ladies toilets of the pub! They were a lot nicer and the floor didn’t dip and slope! We then discovered that instead of sending us round the back of the hotel we simply could have walked up flight of stairs straight into the room 🤦🏻‍♀️ then just to make the stay even more exciting something was scratching at the walls this morning 😬 Online it says there is no car park when actually there is 🤷🏻‍♀️

We didn't expect much when we booked, but boy, we were so wrong. We arrived when it was heaving down, so we decided to get a drink before checking in. The table was being cleaned by someone as we arrived. We ordered on the app and asked where we checked in. My wife was escorted to the check-in area and given a full rundown. We went to our room and couldn't believe how big it was. Biscuits, Tea, Coffee, and Hot Chocolate are all included. Sparkling water also. A random corner bath and a rain shower were brilliant. I was worried about the noise based on other reviews. A market set up Sunday morning, and I didn't hear a thing. Small breakfast was £1.99 and well above expectation. All the staff were outstanding on Friday and made an effort with us. The staff on Saturday and Sunday were both really good. We were very happy with our time and would thoroughly recommend it.

Waited for 15 mins to be given a room key by a manager, stayed in room 13 (no hotel actually has a room 13) had to go up 42 steps through 3 doors to our room. Stairs very dirty and grubby (first impressions count). Room decent size with large bathroom, pillows very hard and king duvet stuffed into double cover so it was clumpy one side. Put towels in shower as was dirty to find they were rehung. Breakfast should be included in the price. The only thing I can't complain about is the food it was fairly decent. Had a view of roof's but did not mind as there was 2 courting pigeons.

The Three Tuns in Thirsk is a JD Wetherspoon pub housed in a former 18th-century coaching inn. Here's a breakdown of what you can expect: Ambiance: • Historic charm: With its long history, the pub retains a traditional feel. You might even catch a glimpse of the original stables in the back yard. • Relaxed pub atmosphere: Expect a casual and lively atmosphere, typical of a Wetherspoon pub. Food and Drink: • Pub fare: The menu offers a wide variety of pub classics like burgers, steaks, and curries at affordable prices. Wetherspoon is known for its real ales, so be sure to try one if you're a beer enthusiast. • Daily deals: Wetherspoons are known for their daily deals and special offers, so you can often find good value for money on meals and drinks. Accommodation: • Budget-friendly hotel: The Three Tuns also has a 13-room hotel above the pub. Rooms are basic but comfortable and come with amenities like free Wi-Fi. Location: • Town center: The Three Tuns sits right in the heart of Thirsk's market square, making it a convenient spot for exploring the town. • Base for exploring: Thirsk is a charming market town surrounded by the Yorkshire Dales and North York Moors National Parks. The pub's location makes it a good base for exploring the area. Overall: The Three Tuns is a solid choice for a no-frills pub experience in Thirsk. It offers good value for money on food and drinks, and the historic building adds a touch of charm. If you are looking for a fancy dining experience, this might not be the place. However, if you want a casual pub meal or a drink in a traditional setting, The Three Tuns is a...

I have lived in Thirsk for 2 years, upon returning from living abroad. Every month we try a new place for a meal. I arrived on my mobility scooter and parked next to vomit up the exterior wall. Once inside I approached a young lady who was a staff member and informed her she would need a bucket of water to sluice the vomit off the wall as it was near the entrance. She carried a small bowl out; when I left, the vomit was still there. On entering, I greeted and asked if it was okay to go into the restaurant, once I was seated I realized we had to download an app to be served. The app did not have a place where I could ask for my bacon to be soft or my egg to be turned over. When I was served my breakfast, I asked for a glass of tap water, which was brought to me after my meal. I needed to take my medication before my meal. I have never had such a bad meal, everything was chewy and dehydrated as if it had just been microwaved or sat under a warming light. The oil which was used to deep fry the hash browns had been used to cook fish prior to cooking my hash browns as I could smell and taste the fish. Except for the toast, this was awesome and by far the best part of our meals. Sadly I can honestly say I would not recommend this hotel for food. I feel I wasted my money. I would not have paid for it if I had not prepaid for my meals on the app before seeing what I was served. It felt impersonal having no contact with any breathing person, not even a greeting, which may have been okay during the Pandemic, but I know from running a hotel abroad, there is nothing like the...

The hotel itself is in need of a complete upgrade.|First impressions of the bar area were not good. Many of the tables were cluttered with used glasses, cutlery and plates, and stayed that way for sometime.|The room itself was OK, with clean sheets, towels and a comfy bed.|The bathroom is very basic with nowhere to place toiletries Etc. The floor is uneven and you walk downhill to get to the loo.|There is a small car park at the rear of the hotel, and we were lucky enough to find a place.|The entrance to the reception is accessed after negotiating lots of wheelie bins, not a good first impression.|We returned to the hotel about 9.30 pm that night and things hadn't changed, actually it was worse. Tables were still cluttered with used glasses, plates Etc. The whole place looked grubby.|My wife has mobility problems and tried to use the disabled toilet, which was a disgrace. The toilet was blocked and the flush handle was detached, making it impossible to use. We mentioned this to a staff member who said that there was an out of order sign on the door and he hadn't had time to repair it.|There was a sign but it was lost amongst the other things on the door. We certainly didn't see it.|We fancied a couple of hot chocolate drinks, which were unavailable and were charged for a couple of shortbread biscuits. |We gave breakfast a miss. We didn't want to eat in there.|Be careful if you are in room six. Don't turn left out of the room. Photo attached. |We won't return...
