Location of the pub is fantastic and has a generous sized beer garden for those sunny days. Normally go here just for a refreshment when in Knaresborough. Marked down for a couple of reasons. Firstly the food is very basic. I was expecting for where the pub is situated and how busy they are that the food would be homemade and a bit more love put into it. There wasnt much choice for myself that doesnt eat processed food. Ended up with scampi and chips. Chips were lovely to be fair. The salad was like out of a bag from a supermarket so very disappointing and the scampi seemed to be from a frozen bag. Secondly, one of the staff accidentally took one of the kids drinks. We told her and she went back in for it. Came back out with what she assumed was his glass!!! Eww

Nice pub food, in a good location. It was a Saturday afternoon on a reasonably fair day in early April, so it was fairly busy. We did manage to get a small table in the corner as a couple were just leaving. My friend had a couple of pints, which he said were decent. I had a couple of lattes, these were also good. We both had steak pie and chips, the pie was served in a ramakin style bowl and was tasty, and also a generous portion, with homemade chips. We both enjoyed everything the food and our visit, the only cons were we felt we paid probably £2 too much for the food (not a big deal considering the location) and the staff were all very young, so customer service although adequate, was not of a high standard.

We parked just over from here, to go to mother shiptons cave and had already been told to try the pub by friends. We got there just after 11am, so it was quiet and had a choice of seats. There is plenty of seating outside to the side of the pub and on a terrace above the pub. Great views. I had the fish finger sandwich and my wife had the hunters chicken. You get so much food and it's so filling. Skin on chips were very nice and our mini schnauzer also appreciated the ones he got. Fish fingers were huge, photo will show that. Plenty of choice to suit everyone and highly recommend the pub. You can also walk alonh the river from the pub, to try and burn off some of the calories.

WORST POSSIBLE SERVICE EVER DO NOT GO HERE !!!! Manager and staff are rude and disrespectful, we ordered food at the bar like ur supposed to do but when we got there they asked us for a table number however the table number on our table was no where to be seen so we did are best to describe where we was sat so that we would get our food correctly, after this we went and sat back down and realised we’d like to put some chips with our order so we went back to the bar and order and again and again we were asked for a table number but as we had not been told what the number was when we last ordered we was not aware what it was so again we described to them and the lady at the bar said it was table 13, this was news to us as I’d just asked a waiter and he’d said it was table 8 so now we was really confused because the guy at the bar said 12 and lady at the bar said 13 and the waiter said 8 so which one was it, we didn’t know, after so long a one of the waiters came out with a tuna jacket potato with chips we assumed was ours but he’d gone to the table in front of us which said it wasn’t there’s, so he went back up to double check and as he was coming back one of the other tables went up to him and claimed it as there’s ( which it wasn’t ) then the rest of our food came but now we was missing one of our meals all because the tables weren’t numbered, the waiter came out 5 minutes later with another tuna jacket potato and another dish for the table that took ours to which when he offered the tuna jacket potato they said it wasn’t there’s as they had there’s wasn’t the case because they’d taken ours, my mum went up to the waiter to interrupt so that my nan could actually have something to eat cus now we’d been waiting ages and told him he’d given them ours instead, he got really aggressive and said no i didn’t when we’d clearly seen him do so, he then said I’ll go get u some more chips, after all this agro what I presume was the manager came out I say presume because she acted like a child and was so disrespectful and rude and arrogant not sure you could class her as a manger definitely should not have that title as she is definitely not fit for the job, she came over admitted that the chips and everything was a mistake and asked us to explain what had happened so my mum directly told her what had happened and then she kept saying stop being rude to my mum stop being stop being rude, my mum was not being rude she was speaking clearly and directly and explaining what was going on, my mum explained that was no table numbers and explained all the confusion, to which she was like all the tables are number to which we replied with where and she pointed to this scribbled on barely viable felt tip pened number that said supposedly 13 look more like three as the one was practically worn away which is to be expected from a table outside, she then kept repeating that everyone makes mistakes and told my mum to stop being rude which was outrageous after the way she was speaking and then she stormed off like toddler and my mum told her to stop being to which she shouted u stop being rude, what an absolute disgrace I’ve never known a place be so inconsiderate and so rude from a manager, like I work in hospitality and my manager would never speak to someone the way she spoke to my mum regardless of how the guest is speaking, she didn’t offer any free drinks or a refund even tho the order was completely messed up or even apologise for...

Stopped here for a quick drink before heading to station. Walked in and seemed pleasant. Woman behind bar said we can sit at reserved tables as they weren’t expecting people till a few hours later. We sat the table and it was filthy. Table was sticky and smudged. Dirty napkins and food on the floor. Staff seemed to be young teenagers, around 16 years old all stood around. Hard to spot which of the children were staff given them all wearing various brands in black clothing, no sort of uniform. A child stood outside the door leading to the beer garden and urinated on the steps. Large puddle of urine not cleaned up by staff. People just stepping in the puddle. A child from a table walked up to a family eating, bent over and farted on their dog. Child kept exclaiming he farted on the dog. Stunk the place out. Kid then walked away as if nothing happened. Someone in the beer garden ordered drinks and their payment failed. The staff kept shouting throughout the pub the payment failed and to find the guy. Won’t be...

Situated at one end of the riverside promenade and conveniently opposite Knareborough's main carpark, the World 's End is ideally placed to benefit from the town's thriving tourist trade. The owners have made good use of the available space by building a terraced beer garden on two sides of the building, as well as a large covered dining area for rainy days. Amazingly, however, the original bar remains cosily traditional, with an Art Nouveau fireplace and dark wood furnishings. We stopped in for a pint and a chip butty after walking the dog in the nearby park. The range of beers is unexceptional - nothing too crafty or niche, but they have something to cater most tastes from Guinness through traditional ales to a range of continental lagers. I had a pint of Erdinger and my companion chose Sol from a choice of two alcohol free lagers. The chip butties were truly excellent - big, sweet triple-fried chips! The staff were friendly and dogs were welcomed. What's...
