Terrible experience from start to finish. The service was cold and unwelcoming, like we were an inconvenience just for showing up. It honestly felt like this place bit off more than it could chew trying to expandâclearly not ready to deliver the same high standard as the original branch.
Walked into an empty restaurantâshouldâve taken that as the first red flag. Service was cold, the atmosphere uninviting, and the food? Didnât even touch it. Unfortunately our orders were not done properly the first time. The milk used in the latte tasted off, and when we apologetically asked again for well done eggs, they came back blackened around the edges. By the time it arrived, we had already lost our appetite from the whole experience.
We mentioned this, and the server responded by saying that âitâs hard to cook an egg properly in the middle,â which came across as dismissive rather than helpful, whilst another staff was rudely laughing in the background.
Still got charged for it - even though food and drinks were untouched (see receipt below). I guess theyâve got to pay the bills somehowâespecially with no other customers around.
To make matters worse, after we had already paid, the same server loudly asked her colleagues, âHave they even paid?!â â in full earshot. It was an uncomfortable and disappointing experience overall.
Only highlight? A decent cup of water....

I strongly advise AGAINST visiting this place if you have small children the staff really are not accommodating at all and frankly I found them rude. Visited today with my friends and our children 2 of which are small babyâs the other one being a 1 year old. I entered the place to look to see if there was enough space for us to fit in with our children which I noticed the garden area was practically empty. We proceeded to enter thinking it wouldnât be an issue as their instagram clearly states NO BOOKING. We was told on entering we couldnât sit in the outdoors area as there wasnât enough space (again literally no one was out there and a large table was getting up to leave as I went in) a couple sat in the corner which we could have made enough space for us and the babyâs then said we could have their space as they was leaving to which the girl behind the counter again said no not possible. We then asked if we could sit out the front as their was 2 small tables to which she said nope we canât put the tables together even tho literally no one was out there. Me and my friends left actually feeling extremely embarrassed and frankly angry. So going forward we ended up visiting the brunch and co who made a space for us outside without hesitation.    Read moreWe were a party of 3 Super excited to visit Leigh on sea and definitely come by for food and drinks to the place that has such hype around it ⌠but as we walked in we were told there is 45min wait to get a table for food and we were welcomed to sit down for drinks inside, no problem we thought we will go for a walk by the beach and come back .. as we then returned an hour or so later now lady tells us thereâs nothing she can offer us till 4pm it was around 2.30pm and she apologised and said she has bookings waiting - NOW this is why Iâm leaving this review their Instagram page states they take no bookings ( fair enough for places that are first come first serve specially if very popular but small with limited seatings) but thatâs not the case in the ends after all cos they had bookings that they were prioritising before us walk ins. That upset me the most because I would have booked and had my highly anticipated visit at this gorg litlle caf, but whatever. Went to a brunch place just 2min walk from this place and had the bestest time, soooo to the Toppers&Toast management I will say - please update your cafe info online platforms so people know they need to book if they want to come over and visit specially like we were driving up...
