Vicky’s Chippy — Restaurant in England

Ordered a chicken tikka kebab. The naan was amazing and very tasty - I hate thick fluffy naans and this was lovely and crispy. The chicken was nice too as was the chilli sauce and mint sauce. The portion size was big even for a large. The disappointing thing was the lack of salad in that in was literally non existent - a sprinkle of lettuce and red onions. Would have been nice to get more salad and variety such as tomatoes and cucumber.

Ordered another kebab - paneer tikka - have tried all the kebab places around this area and must say this one is head and shoulders above the rest - you just have to order extra salad. The naan is excellent, the sauces are excellent and the quality of paneer is superb. Could this be the best kebab place in Leicester I wonder - I think so as Picnic has gone downhill for the last few years.

1/6/25 - have learnt that the best fish burgers in the country are served here - they beat mcdonalds fish burgers hands down - try them - a hidden gem

13/6/25 - normally great pizza but today the dough was not cooked and was mushy so had to throw it away

22/09/25 - ordered 3 times in last 2 weeks - these guys are amazing - always tasty and fresh food - the cheese pizza is sublime and their fish burgers are amazing - such a nice hidden gem in the middle of the clarendon park community - people should really try their food as it is way better than you...

I recently had the pleasure of dining at Vickys Chippy, and I must say, it was a delightful experience from start to finish.

The first thing that struck me was the warm and friendly staff. The moment I walked in, I was greeted with genuine smiles, and their hospitality made me feel right at home. It's not every day you find such welcoming service.

Now, let's talk about the food. I ordered the mix grill fish pakora and I was blown away by the flavors. The portions were incredibly generous would easily feed 2-3 people.The quality of the ingredients and the skill in preparation truly shone through.

One of the standout aspects of Vickys Chippy was the minimal wait time. Despite the restaurant being busy, my order was served promptly, which is a testament to their efficiency and dedication to customer satisfaction.

In summary, Vikkies Chippy is a hidden gem that I wholeheartedly recommend to anyone in search of delicious food and friendly service, I can't wait to return and explore more...

Good food. Very poor service.

The food was good. Big portions and nice fish and chips and curry sauce. Expensive though at £10.99 each.

However, the service was appalling. I arrived just after 6 and ordered 2 large fish and chips and was told it would be a 20 minute wait. I ordered at 18:12. After 25 mins, I asked how long it would be and was told 5 more mins. I then witnessed him put the battered fish in the fryer. When I asked why the fish had not gone in earlier, he said they were very busy. The 2 members of staff were clearly overwhelmed with their online orders and neglected the in-person customers. All in all, it took 46 mins from order to serving (see image), and would have taken longer if I hadn't prompted him.

A word of advice: if you are a fish and chip shop, have fish and chips at the ready! Also, treat your in-person customers well because they see exactly what...
