We visited on a quiet Sunday, with very few tables taken, so we were expecting a good service, but alas that was not the case.

The staff didn't seem happy to be there, no 'please' or 'thank yous', no smiles and no happy service. It all seemed a bit too much.

The cafe itself is well furnished, nice and spacious yet it lacked atmosphere. It could be so nice but was disappointing and uninspiring, certainly nothing to set it apart from the many chain cafes and coffee shops that now fill the city centre. If I were writing a school report it would read....try harder, can do better. Average at best.

This is the second time I've tried this place and it's been the same. Both times, the place has been very quiet. Ordered millionaires hot chocolate - nothing special. A few muffins, all tasted stale. Lemon one was moist from the filling but very artificial flavoured. One was listed as Easter Bunny (odd in May) turns out this should've had a chocolate bunny on top. Tried two hot sandwiches, both were nice and fair value. Tall male served me both days, no smile, no eyes contact, no 'hello', didn't lift his head the whole time. No friendliness even if you try to crack a joke. When there's no music and chatter from staff, the atmosphere feels a bit awkward. No one offers to help with your tray, no matter how heavy it is. Generally, very little customer service. Ordered sandwiches and there's no offer to bring them to your table, you have to stay and wait, even though the place is empty. went in on my break from work for a nice relaxing coffee & cake and asked for it ‘in’, as i was only on an hour break and considering they didnt close for almost another 2 hours thought i’d chill inside. The scoffs and eye rolls i received were ridiculous. I then received my coffee & cake ‘to-go’. Went to go and sit down and was met by a foul lady who was very quick to tell me URM THIS AREA IS CLOSED, but there were 0 signs around to tell me this, i apologised and asked politely if I could sit in a seperate area when the same ‘lady’ again told me very rudely that it was also closed. 0 customer service and made me feel like i had to leave ASAP I did, I left the entirety of my coffee and returned back to work in a awful mood, I get it having a bad day but maybe some other people are too, maybe find a different job that doesn’t involve smiling & being nice, because she obviously can’t do so, won’t...
