Alright then I'll be the first review. Came here yesterday on my bike with my partner. Unfortunately no Gluten free bun for her, so she had to make do with chips but this was understandable given the current circumstances and we were reassured that Gluten Free buns would be on the menu. Bought a burger, fries & a shake. The burger was just under £5 and was a proper gourmet burger you'd expect from a restaurant. Cooked fresh as we stood outside waiting - and was absolutely delicious. If I had a minor, minor complaint it would be the coleslaw used has too much mayo in - which when heated from the freshly cooked burger creates a lot of runny gloop at the bottom - certainly nothing to knock a star off of, the taste was excellent and my partner enjoyed her fries & milkshake.
Not sure if it's just supply issues, but I think a burger of this quality would go really well with rustic, skin-on fries instead of the chunkier style of fries on offer. Really happy though and my new workplace is literally opposite so I think I'll be visiting in lunchtimes when everything re-opens, hopefully they can hang on until then - but have already started telling friends & family so it would be good to see this local business get more...
Read moreI like my coffee, it's all I drink. So when I review anywhere which serves beverages to satiate my addiction I naturally focus on the contents of my cup/mug/glass. Incidentally, I'm not overly keen on my caffeine in a glass container, even if it comes with a handle. Mister's brew was nothing to write home about (Remember, I previously mentioned that my parents were brown bread). Call me an idiot, as people do, but I'm also a stickler for a well constructed swirly on top of my coffee ☕️. Misters failed miserably with my swirly. Yes, an attempt was made but half-hearted at best. My ham and cheese croissant was okay but I'd like to raise another point pertaining to food. Why do hosts choose to ask if everything's cushty just as you've shovelled in a gob full of it? Do they wait, looking at you, ready to pounce as soon as you've got a mouthful? Pleasant smiley ☺️ pouncy staff but I doubt I'll...
Read moreI was too late for breakfast, but thankfully there was a pretty great brunch menu. I was intrigued by the bubble and squeak eggs benedict and was not disappointed. Tonnes of flavour! Like a high-end restaurant creation. Lovely hints of bitterness from the slightly charred bubble and squeak, combined with the slightly oversweet packet hollandaise both hugely complimented by the juicy, salty Wiltshire ham. Even the weird addition of a cracker eventually made sense (crunchy bite). Absolutely delicious. If the b&s had more pepper and the hollandaise were fresh with a bit of cayenne i would suggest this wouldn't be out of place on a michelin starred menu. Great coffee, good strong tea. Staff were excellent....
