China garden — Restaurant in Gravesham

How can I be honest without sounding rude.. lets give this a go. Have been ordering exclusively from China Garden for 5 years, ever since we moved here. Last nights food was shocking. 4 basic dishes costing over £30. I paid about £15 more than i was paying a few weeks ago, ok sure, everything is more expensive. But then when it arrived, the portions are now in the tiny little containers rather than the same size. So we are looking at a near 100% increase in price with a 50% reduction in amount of food. The word scam comes to mind. The delivery time went up whilst we were on the phone and then it was still late. Nearly 2 hours after order was placed.

The food is still tasty, but seriously, I feel scammed.

Ordered direct so they cant even justify it by stating Uber or JustEat took a cut.

Had the worst experience today, there is no vegetarian option although they have it on the list, they cook their food in the same oil as everything else and pots and pan and for a vegetarian this is extremely disappointing. Our server stated that the chicken is halal and then turned around and said it is cooked in the wok which defeats the purpose of halal.

The lack of disrespect which we receive was unbelievable and the 2 waiters treated with soo much disrespect. They refused to give us high chairs as in the whole restaurant they only had 2 high chairs. Which meant that this is not family friendly.

I requested for a child plate, and the response I got was train your child how to use the normal size plate. How dear she say that as it’s not her place to make such...

Absolutely amazing food, worth every penny, every dish out of the seven we tried, was full of flavour, sauces were fresh varied in consistency and ingredients depending on recipes and were cooked with natural broth unlike the monotonous take away type of gooey sugary syrups. Meat was fresh, was actually in the dish and portions were reasonable for the price. Variety of fresh vegetables in each dish. Service.was great, efficient and quick and every person working was pleasant and kind. It's the first Chinese we've had for over a year after a really bad experience with another Chinese take away Happy Dragon , but that was a pleasant change.
