I'm really surprised at the good reviews this place has. I tried it for the first time on Friday. The staff were rough and rude. Not a covid precaution in place. Was a 40 minute wait, and whilst waiting the girl starts making my sandwiches at the front counter, on top of a notebook and all their other bits and bobs. Hadn't even washed her hands since coming in from dealing with customers outside etc. I insisted that the food was made in the kitchen (which i really hoped was clean), as this desk she was making them on certainly wasn't! manager sorted it and we took the order home. Got home, stuff was missing and what was left tasted terrible. £65 for a few toasties and cakes which quite frankly i coulda rustled up better myself. Overpriced, and over reviewed. Tried the Katsu box. First thing I will say is that it is way overpriced at £12.50 (Sept 2021). It is good but those prices are too high for my liking and I wouldn't pay it again. The chicken pieces in batter are proper chicken albeit a bit on the dry side. They are high quality though. The Katsu curry is nice but pretty much your standard chinese curry sauce. Same can be said for the sweet chilli sauce. Chips are decent sized, well cooked and have a tasty salt'n'chilli flavour. There was too much sweet chilli sauce which coated most of the chips below and somewhat robbed them of the salt'n'chilli flavour. I ended up walking here thinking it was closer than it was and that took an hour there and back from the city centre. I found that the staff are too eager to take your order and not to give you the chance to read what they have on the menu first. I ordered the chicken wrap and salt and chilli fries, and with a drink there isn't much change from £15. You may receive plenty of food in your order but sadly its just average, and lacked in flavour, l expected something more created on site than something pre made and deep fried, especially at the prices. With the salt and pepper fries they ended up being chips and curry sauce with, chilli, sesame & onion seeds on top, not what l expected.
