Chose to eat here for a small mid-afternoon meal having seen an appeal to the decor. On entry we found just a few seats available though there were more available on the second floor balcony, I found out later. My partner had a vegetarian dish while I, a meat eater, chose a dish that was suitable for vegetarians. The food took a fairly long time to arrive but the place was very busy and we had drinks so chatted happily away in a comfortable surrounding. Now then.. there is good out of the next but, initially my food was less than hot, indeed just about warm which included the main meal and the garlic bread that was a bit soggy and undercooked. My partner's food was good... in taste and temperature and she carried on blissfully unaware of the issue with my food. I complained to the staff and swiftly without any issues the food was removed with the offer of a refund or replacement. Replacement selected, I appreciated I'd have a wait but was quickly greeted with hot and very nicely done garlic bread to go on with while I waited for the main dish to be prepared. Not too long later a freshly cooked main dish arrived and was hot. I must say that both the returned dish and the second were full of flavour and tasted great. The waiter that had served us came back to check that all was now good and discuss the complaint. I have to say that the apologies given felt sincere and the manner in which he dealt with the issue and the resolution agreed were nothing short of a calm, respectful and professional person. Sadly I did not catch the name of the young man, but to the owners of this place, this young man deserves credit. While I make the point that the food should have been hot in the first place, the manner in which the complaint was dealt with, the resolution and the fact that I did get a hot meal left me feeling satisfied that this place does take customer care and satisfaction very seriously. The events will not put me off going there again and I will endorse Zinco Lounge as a good place to eat good food. As a furtherance, I can say that there is a very good selection of food here and many vegetarian dishes available. They even have a full page of dishes suitable for vegans.. and this is something of a rarity worthy of...
Read moreThe lounge looks promising and the menu offers a wide range of tasty sounding meals. However, for the second time we are disappointed in the delivered experience. The near £12 burger, nearer £13 including the jalapenos was a most disappointing plate. The bun was very very small and inside there was one little slice of cheese, a single leaf of lettuce, a thin slice of tomato, the tiniest piece of red onion...way less than a slice, and two drops of burger sauce that didn't reach halfway to the edge. It looked boring and cheap. On the plate there was a decent portion of 'slaw, and little cup of fries. Sadly the fries were also inside a pointy bag so the cup was only about a third full. The olive oil and balsamic came with lovely bread, but I don't think the oil was actually olive as it was so thin and clear. It soaked into the bread whereas olive oil tends to sit on the surface. Much more like a thin vegetable oil. The power food salad with tender stem broccoli only had 2 of the most microscopic pieces of broccoli. 5p size. The staff were pleasant and again seemed busy. Despite the place being 1/3 full at 11.45 we had to wait a long time for our meal to arrive. I don't normally do a bad review but this was the second visit to see if the first was unusual. It isn't hard to make sure the contents are correct, give a decent portion of chips, put more of the burger trimmings and sauce on the side, and to fill a burger up to make it good to look ...for £13. The photo is not of Metro, it is a burger I made, for reference of what a burger COULD look like, even...
Read moreI've been there a couple of times before and it's been fine. However today I had the worse experience I ever had in a bar/restaurant.
We were a party of 4, for brunch. We waited for our food for over hour and a half , meals arrived to the table at different times (with 20min between them).
Extremely poor service, we were not told at any point of the delay in kitchen.
I worked in hospitality for many years and I understand that sometimes there are problems or busy days. However there is not excuse for poor management and service.
Managing guests expectations it would have save the team on shift from many complaints.
This team needs proper training, starting with the team leader/GM...
Main issues today. Dirty tables (4 front of the house staff on shift and it wasn't busy!) Guest weren't told about the delay in kitchen. food waiting under the kitchen lamp to be served for over 5min. meals quality dropped as result of all above. Example: avocado toast served with burn bread and overcooked poached egg.
Just sad and disappointing. Not coming back.
Visit time. 26/01/19 BTW 1pm and 3...
