Well let's just say it wasn't very Greek and it wasn't very nice in fact it's an insult to real Greek food and a Greek person would be very offended being served whats nothing more than cheap produce and really badly cooked and presented as authentic Greek food.
The staff were nice but very busy and so we waited too long for our drinks took nearly 30 mins and then we were sat by the entrance to the toilets and had to move due to the stench as people were coming and going into the toilets my nephew went in and came out and said they were filthy.
The prices were ok but not cheap and then you served with a small wrap, on a small plat the wrap was very dry and with a teaspoon of sauce mint yougurt and a few raw onions with about 12 chips that were cold, hard and dry. The actual wrap doesn't wrap around the food, but they disguise this with paper.
They couldn't get the order correct, and yet they must be asked for various ways to have the meal every day.
Likeno sauce, no tomatoes, etc. Even when it was sent back to make a fresh one, it was back within 60 seconds exactly the same way, and all my friend asked for was no tomatoes and got no sauce or onions, or hullumi. The waitress had written notes, but they didn't do it properly regardless.
The starters were ok, but it's not hard to serve a plate of hummus with some flat breads, and hallumie popcorn was ok hardly any honey on, so a bit dry.
We didn't eat our mains due to everything wrong with it. The chicken in the wrap served to my newphew tasted like chemicals, and I had to spite it out and tell him not to eat it, so I don't know what was going on there but it was bitter and inedible with a terrible after taste.
All in all, we won't be going back, and I warn others there's better, more authentic Greek restaurants around, and you would have much better authentic food experience for the same price or even less.
Bournemouth is a tourist area taking full advantage of families on holiday, and this restaurant is one of them.
It's not a 'real' Greek restaurant in any form. It's more like doing the bare minimum to try and pass it off...
Read moreI’ve never left a restaurant feeling as disrespected and uncomfortable as I did after visiting Real Greek Bournemouth. What should have been a relaxed meal turned into an unpleasant experience, entirely due to the unacceptable behaviour of the manager — a man in a burgundy quarter-zip top — whose attitude was nothing short of disgraceful. From the beginning, he treated us with visible irritation and impatience. Basic, polite requests — such as asking for ketchup or the bill — were met with loud sighs, eye rolls, and dismissive body language. It went far beyond bad service; it was rude, confrontational, and entirely unprovoked. What made matters even worse was that his behaviour felt targeted. While I can’t speak to his intent, the way he interacted with our table compared to others left us feeling unwelcome in a way that felt racially motivated. That is not an accusation I make lightly — but the difference in treatment was stark, and left a lasting impression. No one dining out should be made to feel like they don’t belong. To top it off, the food was subpar and certainly didn’t justify the price. A service charge was added automatically, which felt particularly insulting considering the complete lack of service or basic courtesy. I didn’t even have the energy to challenge it — I just wanted to leave. This was, without exaggeration, the worst customer service experience I’ve ever had. I hope the company takes a serious look at who represents their brand, because hospitality like this drives people away — and rightly so. I will not return, and I would advise others to think twice...
Read moreWE VOW NEVER TO SET FOOT IN THIS PLACE AGAIN. We are an elderly couple who were given a Groupon "Real Greek Set Menu for 2 people" by our daughter. We telephoned the restaurant in Bournemouth on 30th January to book a table for 31st January, New Years Eve and we were told we could use our Groupon voucher that night and presumed that this would be noted on our booking. When we arrived at the restaurant we were given a selection of menus and ordered a Greek Platter for 2. When it came to paying we showed them the Groupon voucher on our phone and the waiter said he could not accept it. We were at a loss to understand why as the Greek Platter for 2 was £50 and the value on the voucher was for £62.90. Josef the manager came over and said we would have to pay the bill and get a refund from Groupon because it was nothing to do with them. He said we should have told the waiter we had a Groupon Voucher, but we reiterated that we would have thought a note would have been put on our booking to this effect. Josef kept repeating that we would have to get a refund from Groupon in a very rude and condescending manner. We were very embarrassed and disgusted by his attitude and paid the bill....
