Let us hope the Boot is managed better than the Porterhouse in Bournemouth which I believe Pubtastic are supposed to also run. I have been frequenting The Porterhouse for over 12 years and never has the service and beers provided been so poor. This pub has had 3 landlords/managers in the last 18 months since Pubtastic took over. The current manager is the worst because in 6 months I have seen him twice on the premises. He is never there. I have just got back from a lunchtime drink there and of 18 pumps only 7 were available thus reinforcing rumours that they are probably not paying the brewery for the beers. how can they when there seems to be no one actually managing the place. Last week a member of staff was waiting outside at opening time (plus 15 minutes) as nobody was bothered to open up and let her in. No original staff remain and most regular drinkers have abandoned the place. Used to be packed now just a few on the evenings I go . Getting worse The owners should be ashamed of bringing a very good pub...
Read moreWent there to meet up with my mate Terry, we didn't know there was a pirate event on, but when we got there the pub was full of pirates, it was brilliant, it's an olde world pub, very fitting for that sort of event, the staff were very nice and friendly, also efficient, we also noted that everyone at the event were welcoming to us, 10 out of 10 for this pub, my only negative comment is that we couldn't stay longer than we did, had we known it was on we would have booked in somewhere and enjoyed what I reckon would have been a great night, congratulations to everyone involved in arranging the day, Mike and...
Read moreGreat place, excellent value for money! It's a Friday evening and we've just paid £3.50 for a pint of Carlsberg, apparently it's only £3 Monday to Thursday! We've been here before whilst on holiday in the lovely Weymouth! The Boot Inn is a lovely charming Inn, and with very reasonable prices, no wonder the punters are flocking! The pub isn't on the main drag, it's just tooked away on a little side street opposite the main marina. This is definitely worth visiting!!! Although they don't do CAMRA discount now, it's pricing is so competitive that it doesn't matter! It's a lovely traditional...
