WITHOUT DOUBT BEST RESTAURANT & BEST MANAGEMENT AND TEAM AND LOVELIEST FOOD CURRENTLY IN CENTRAL BOURNEMOUTH BY FAR We visited Cote Brasserie in WESTOVER ROAD BOURNEMOUTH this past week, to celebrate would you believe my 78th birthday! I had much to give thanks for having precisely 9 years earlier to the day, {again my then 69th birthday!} been diagnosed with pancreatic cancer and given 6 months to live, yet here I was celebrating 9 years of life that I never thought I would see, with my sassy beautiful half Swedish wife Sue. Having been privileged to eat across many years some of the UK`s best restaurants, Cote Brassiere in BOURNEMOUTH excels, AND SOME! Exceptional food, great chef that day who was charming, and top management. It really is not fair to mention anyone in particular there but I will, as the ENTIRE TEAM, + THE 2 MANAGERS who we met on Tuesday morning 29th November, were absolutely all outstanding and a total credit to the high standards Cote Brassiere try to achieve every day. However, ONE GIAN FRANCO who looked after us entirely for our two-hour lunch time visit was simply incredible. Throughout our stay, we were superbly looked after by GIAN and supporting team. Gian was simply charming and went way above the norm, out front, and he most certainly made a celebration day and lunch on the exceptional. His people skills are a great asset to the company and he should be congratulated. Both the front of house managers also were exceptional. As for our two courses each chosen off the al a carte menu both were exceptional. The atmosphere and cleanliness at this establishment are appealing and warming as a patron whilst eating there.
AT COTE BRASSIERE MANAGEMENT LEVEL, you should be aware that BOURNEMOUTH with its entire EXCEPTIONAL TEAM, are way out in front! They ALL SHOULD BE CONGRATULATED. FINALLY, we might also mention we often visit the SALISBURY BRANCH TOO, AND also DORCHESTER BRANCH WHEN VISITING THAT AREA & WE HAVE ALREADY LEFT STUNNING FEEDBACK LAST YEAR FOR SALISBURY AND ALEX AND HIS TEAM TOO, AND ZAC IN DORCHESTER TOO. SO THOSE TWO EATERIES IN ADDITION TO BOURNEMOUTH, WERE WE LIVE ARE ALSO A TOTAL CREDIT TO THE COTE BRASSIERE BRAND; Will see all three teams again soon meantime a HUGE THANK YOU AND WELL-DONE to you all Dave & Sue Burningham...
Read moreWe have eaten in Cote in Bournemouth and always enjoyed it with good food and service however this can not be said about our last visit, It was my birthday. We have been many times before for special occasions and had decorations on the table and been given a glass of something cold and fizzy on arrival,This visit, nothing ,although it was stated on the booking that we were celebrating a birthday. We did eventually get given a drink after we asked for one and the manager was consulted, which took ages The service was extremely slow even for us when we are never in a rush but felt forgotten on this occasion. The starters were fine ,although we have had better in there ,but the main courses really were not up to standard. My husband ordered Beef Bourguignon which came looking extremely dry so he sent it back and asked for more sauce. When it eventually came back the potato was cold and he sent it back again. This took so long my son and I had nearly finished so my husband declined trying again and ended up with no main course. My sons sauce on his chicken was split and there didn't appear to be any bacon at all and my fish was ok but not really hot and not as nice as when I have eaten in Cote before. All the food had obviously been sitting far too long under heated lamps and was not up to standard. There didn't seem to be any organisation at all although one man did appear to be trying to get the correct food to the tables. We would normally have stayed for desserts and cocktails but left to go to The Botanist instead after being so disappointed with our experience in Cote on this occasion and it has left me unsure that I ever want to return when there are places in Bournemouth providing both better food and service than we...
Read moreWe have been to several Côte branches and chose this one due to being on holiday in the area and celebrating our 10th wedding anniversary (with our 2 children!). Staff were very friendly and attentive. We were impressed by the ‘kids eat free’ summer offer (although did have to highlight this to our waitress as the final bill hadn’t included this offer, so she had to re-do it). Perhaps staff need to be more aware of current seasonal offers? The main downfall of our visit were the small portions for the price. Eating out seems like a luxury in the current climate, so it’s not something we do often. When we do, we expect to be really impressed with our meals. Sadly, my husband chose the chicken and bacon, which when arrived only had a bacon flavour ‘sauce/soup’ underneath a very small, flattened chicken breast. This was served with frites on the side but no vegetable. The initial look of this dish was very disappointing and not filling at all- luckily my youngest son barely ate his main (said the chips were too salty- which I was surprised as they were) so my husband polished off his kids’ meal too! When I booked online I had the option to add an occasion, so I selected ‘anniversary’. Not sure what I expected as it didn’t say, but the anniversary wasn’t acknowledged on the evening, so a bit pointless asking. Overall, we left feeling like we’d spent a lot of money for what were tasty but underwhelming and small meals, considering Côte is a higher-end chain restaurant. I’m a very keen cook and therefore sadly felt I could have recreated the meals at home for a fraction of the price and with larger portions. This is not necessarily the fault of the Bournemouth branch, more the...
