Went to the Cafe Lounge in Rochester today. We queued as expected as you can't book on a weekend. Waited outside for 30 minutes. We were shown to a table for 2 and they added an extra chair but it was very tight for the 3 of us. They took our order for our drinks and food. The drinks arrived after 10 minutes but we waited almost 55 minutes for our food! We were not offered more drinks and had to attract the attention of the waitresses to order another. We had burger and chips, a pick your own 5 item breakfast, and chocolate pancakes. Two pots of tea, a coffee and 2 bottles of beer. Bill came to 72.00 including service charge. The waiting staff seemed really miserable and I found them unapproachable apart from a young man who did smile. I can't complain about the food as it was very nice. However , the wait for the food without anyone informing us there was nearly an hours wait was unproffessional. We have dined at the Nucleus on a number of occasions and found their service more streamlined and similar prices for the same type of food. We have been to the Cafe Lounge in Meopham and found the waitresses much the same - quite miserable ! Would we go again - I...
Read moreQueue outside, took roughly 15-20 minutes to get in and seated, it’s popular/ new and peak time so this is to be expected. Service inside was quick, polite. The food was particularly good, the sausages/ bacon were a triumph, the lattes and milkshakes were exceptional, we will be back for this alone. The criticisms - very loud and echoey, English people don’t sit and talk they sit and shout over each other, so some noise dampening acoustic set ups on the ceiling might help with the echo. The prices are high end, but I ended up sat on a fold out deck chair when there was only 3 of us, for £75 for a lunch I’d rather sit in a proper chair. There was no butter that arrived with the toast. The table was cleared quickly so cutlery was thrown on the table not laid out - a tiny little nit pick but at these prices it’s the little details. We’ll be back and highly recommend this lovely place. Try the breakfasts and the milkshakes, the cinnamon roll latte was the...
Read moreHad been looking forward to visiting for my birthday breakfast but was somewhat disappointed. The decor was lovely, however it was quite overwhelming being in such a busy and loud/noisy environment whilst being somewhat squashed due to the number of tables that have been positioned next to one another. The food looked amazing, however it definitely had waaaaay too much salt and white pepper, my partner also said the same and he loves a lot of seasoning! No one came to ask if everything was okay with the food though so didn’t really have an opportunity to give this feedback (it was also extremely busy). The frappe’s were also basically just flavoured ice - they looked and tasted a bit like a slushie drink. Overall, we were quite disappointed with our first visit, but also appreciate that it is still very new and still very busy with a lot of hustle and bustle. We would visit again but maybe when the hype has...
