Burgers! Now I do love a good burger and I can say, I've not found a better one so far than five guys.
I am yet to roam the States and sample the many different burger joints. But while I'm a British citizen and this is the only company who seems to deal in delicious burgers, I'll praise them.
My usual is the bacon cheese or a cheese burger, toppings vary, but the fact that you can add all or any combination of toppings at no extra cost, that makes it a little bit harder to pick. Whatever the outcome it never fails to please. I also believe fresh never frozen is a good method adopted here.
Grab some Cajun fries, the regular fries are great, but that extra kick of flavour helps a lot with an enjoyable meal.the potatoes for these fries are fresh every day and not always from the same place, that's how you know they monitor their quality.
Some days I want to completely eat my whole calorie count in one meal, in which case I add on one of their delicious milkshakes. Now this is similar to the burgers, you are able to add up to 11 items into the shake at no extra cost. With a bonus or a bit of bacon if you want for some extra saltiness. As with every other item, five guys continues the fresh trend by using fresh made ice cream for their milkshakes, taking this extra freshness to a while other level.
The alternative is bottled drinks or a coca cola freestyle for a huge selection of combo drinks, even more if you have the app.
Five guys praises itself on not only making a meal so enjoyable you'll be full and still want more, but also making an environment fresh, clean and welcoming, to make you want to come back each time.
One thing I must mention, which to me just adds flavour and enhances the experience and taste. But peanut oil is used, so those allergic, beware.
Otherwise; great place, food and staff. I couldn't ask for more for this dining experience....

Unlike McDonald's or many other fast food places the food isn't too greasy and remains extremely tasty. As well as this the buns aren't too soggy but do absorb a bit of the grease. The chips are delightful and have a nice fresher taste to them (much better then any other fast food store).
The interior is also quite nice. It has a myriad of photos from newspapers and other forms of media displaying how good five guys is. It also seems to take inspiration from a classic 1950s diner - sporting red booths in many of the corners and lining the walls. There are too vending machines which also have a multitude of soda flavours.
Service is quick but o wouldn't say as fast as other fast food shops. As well as this it can be expensive (for a fast food restaurant that is). Also since the cashier is perched on a platform slightly higher then your average person it can be quite hard to hear them properly.
The menu is quite small with a few variation of burgers and hotdogs then you ask for extras/add ons. If your eating for one I'd recommend asking for small chips/fries because they will fill them up in a small cup and then fill up the bag (about 1/4 or so), usually 3 can eat 1 serving of regular sized chips (for me and my friends that is).
However the food is really good. I'd say it's sort of inbetween and restaurant and fast food place. Not to cheap and chavvy but not to expensive...

Don't worry, I won't waste my time in future and you've lost one of your biggest advocates, always insisting people give you a try rather than shake shack and the like!
Have frequented five guys lakeside a couple of times a month since it opened and visited other five guys in the uk and around the world countless times, but my wife and I have never had such a bad burger as the ones this afternoon. The beef patty in our burgers was so small and thin, it was like the regular five guys patty has been cut in half to make two burgers... they were so thin, they were so thin they has been reduced to flavourless crispy slithers. Not sure what has happened to this place, but if this is a deliberate change to the size/quality of the burgers due to cost... I am done with the place. I did complain to lady at the counter, but she just tried fobbing me off claiming they had been squashed a bit too much when cooking... but if that was the case the patty would not have been so tiny it was not visible in the bun when...
