The venue was fantastic, the pub had a lot of positive energy, and the drink was good. Sadly, one of the members of staff did not understand the concept of how a business works. The table we sat at was dirty and covered in bottles from the previous guest. A member of our party asked this gentleman: “Excuse me, can you please take away these bottles?” He did, however promptly returned and rudely snarked: “You should say ‘can you take away the bottles, not take away the bottles’.” He clearly misheard, or is unaware that there are places in other regions of the world where English sounds different. As this was my first day in Scotland, and I may be an ignorant Canadian, I suspect that the goal of any such venue is to increase revenue, serve customers, and support the business who employs you. As this gentleman is determined to go out of his way to be rude and encourage customers to leave the establishment at once, thus reducing the business’ revenue, I strongly recommend he be banished to the back rooms and not allowed on the floor so as to prevent the future alienation of customers. When you try to order drinks at the bar, you are either ignored, or provided with breathing exercises as the inconvenience that you are. What’s more, when we decided to report this mishap to management, they too were completely disinterested in the satisfaction of customers and were completely apathetic. In summary, I applaud the owners of this bar for employing individuals who enjoy customer dissatisfaction and have zero interest in profitability. I certainly would not be so brave as a business owner and would work in the pursuit of money, but what do I know.
Every other bar I went to in Glasgow met us with smiles, friendliness, and an overall fantastic atmosphere. Go anywhere in town...
Read moreCan't comment on the food or atmosphere as didn't get as far as being able to check them out. I booked a table for two to eat before going to the theatre in Glasgow, over an hour's drive from home. Reservation was easy and a confirmation email came to me by return. As finding somewhere to eat before the theatre on a Friday is always hard, this was perfect. Until another email arrived about 2 hours before the booking to say it had been cancelled! No reason, no apology. At first I thought it must be a mistake, so I phoned the pub. No mistake. They just cancel the online bookings! A rude, arrogant guy told me, with not a hint of apology in his voice, that how it works is that you make the booking on the 'system' and the 'system' sends a confirmation email. The confirmation then goes to them and they cancel it, because they can't guarantee a table. I asked why they took the booking in the first place. Turns out 'they' didn't take the booking, the 'system' took the booking. He liked the word 'system'.
That's OK then.
Needless to say I won't be visiting to check...
Read moreWent here yesterday to get our young baby some food after some back and forth conversation we left with a take away after the lady explained there policy was to have a child on the premises was it needed to be a family meal. That was fine (Me & my partner didn't want food at the time) went back today for a family meal & wouldn't recommend at all. Customer service was poor, I ordered at the till & asked for the baby's food to come out first so we could feed him & have our food then. Our food came out first, I asked where the baby's food was & was told it was coming, it came out missing the veg I ordered with it. I said to the girl I had asked for his food to come first, response was they sent it all out together. Babys potatoes where hard and needed mashing by us with a fork. Our food was cold, chips where potatoes less & on the side we ordered dirty chips which came in a bag 🤷♀️ staff on duty today didn't seem friendly (the lady we spoke to yesterday was very friendly & accommodated the food we needed for the baby). Wouldnt recommended this place at...
