It's still a cheeky Nando's .. it's just different! No queues outside any more, instead you need to scan a barcode at the entrance to get your place in the queue and you'll be informed when a table is available for you. We had a seat upstairs, the host told us to go upstairs and tell the greeter it was table 11 and left us to it, but when we got upstairs there was no-one there and table 11 was the first one, so we just sat down. There are now barcodes on the tables as well to order food. Just a note - you need an account to order your food so it's easier to sign up before rather than doing it there. So, barcode food ordering. Even with a reduced menu, there's still pretty much everything you'd expect from Nando's to order from, not sure what was missing! I guess it's just a little anti-social, everyone's head in their phones whilst ordering, less conversation. The system all worked fine, orders are placed and food is brought over. I guess I'd prefer a little more interaction from staff - as there was no-one to greet us at the table we weren't explained to how the drink refills worked, did we have to order on the barcode each time or ask someone in person with the same glass? We never found out. You're basically just left to your own devices, there's no interaction apart from when your food is brought to the table and you're asked if you need condiments. You don't see any other staff milling about and you there's no-one around to approach. Food wise, always a good standard from Nando's - I had butterfly chicken, tenderstem, salad and split a spicy rice with a mate. All lovely food. They don't do balsamic vinegar anymore which was a shame. Like I say, it's Nando's, just different. Personally, I might just order online for click/collect or a home delivery next time.

Came to Cardiff on the 1st of December to do our Christmas shopping. We decided on nandos for lunch. We arrived at 1pm and there was a long queue outside of the restaurant. We thought we would be ages but knew every restaurant in Cardiff will be busy and nandos is worth the wait. In fairness to the staff and the good system they have in place, we were only in the queue around 15 minutes then our table was ready. My husband and I ordered the peri-tamer chicken with chips, sweet potato wedges, multigrain salad and coleslaw. My friend ordered a plainish chicken pitta and mash. Food was also quick to arrive, boiling hot and delicious. Our friendly waiter was also her attentive.

We had a gift voucher so we went. Served right away - no wait (8pm on a Saturday). First time there. Was okay, it’s chicken and chips. We had sweet potato wedges for starter which were nice. I had a grilled chicken burger chips and garden bread. Was okay but about taste less. Garlic bread was yummy. Partner had a flatbread with chicken peri fries and peas. Peas were nice, we also had creamy mash which was yummy! Dessert was a cheese cake and ice cream which for me was the best part!!! 3/5 - staff were fantastic, food was okay and quick but nothing to write home about, toilets were dirty and looked very in polished (grouting etc)

Dear Nando's,

I was very angry about the unprofessionalism of the staff on the day of my family gathering party on 09 march 2019. The table we sat down very tiny for a group of 5 huge people, we felt very uncomfortable straight away, but nothing had been sorted out. Secondly, when I came order a massive platter, I also wanted to use my reward which was fully loaded in my card with 7 chilies on it. However, I had been deny as they could not proceed me nando's card for some no idea reasons while it clearly stated on the receipt and my app that I had 7 chilies, orange reward to claim. Thirdly, the internet inside the store was not working. Lastly, when the chicken came out, the hot level was wrong as I ordered 3 different level of for 5 of us and it came out 2 chicken-plain, 2 chicken- medium, 4 chicken- very hot, we could not share as it been too hot to eat. One of use went home hungry as there was no right chicken hot level. I could not believe, Nando's in the centre capital of Wales has gone this bad management. Especially the manager of the day, who is very argumentative, especially to me, as well as all other guest, is the worst. I really want to know what happening which my Nando's store so far and I want my rights back. This is unacceptable service and manner to bear on any occasion. I am serious demand my feedback be taken seriously. My in law is not a joke on the date as I am the one take them to nando's and nando's st david was seriously disappointed me so much.

I am looking forward to hearing from you...

During my recent visit to Nando’s at St David’s in Cardiff, I was fortunate to be served by Chris, whose exceptional service truly enhanced my dining experience. From the moment I arrived, Chris greeted me with a warm and genuine smile, immediately making me feel welcome.

Throughout the meal, Chris demonstrated remarkable attentiveness, ensuring that all my needs were met without being intrusive. His knowledge of the menu was impressive; he provided insightful recommendations that catered perfectly to my preferences.

What stood out most was Chris’s ability to anticipate needs before they were expressed. Whether it was refilling drinks promptly or offering extra napkins, his proactive approach showcased a level of professionalism that is rare to find.

The combination of Chris’s friendly demeanor, efficiency, and genuine care transformed a regular meal into a memorable occasion. I left the restaurant not only satisfied with the delicious food but also deeply appreciative of the outstanding service provided.

In summary, Chris exemplifies the high standards of customer service that elevate the dining experience at Nando’s St David’s. I look forward to future visits, confident in the exceptional service...
