So disappointed. Been to prezzo multiple times and liked it, but yesterday was terrible. It was 6 of us. We waited AGES for our starters, well over 40 minutes. It wasn’t busy at all so not down to this, and it was only once a staff member realised we are sat there with no food that they finally started making our starters. We were then given our mains before empty starter plates were taken away, so we had to almost Tetris the plates around to fit mains on the table too and be sat there with no cutlery (as that was used for starters) and dirty plates. Staff didn’t seem bothered about any of this as they didn’t say anything when bringing food to us apart from shouting out names of dishes not even a simple sorry about the wait. When mains arrived, pasta dishes were properly disappointing. A spaghetti carbonara (traditional not the chicken one) had random bits of chicken in it and also odd bits of penne? Not what you expect in a carbonara is it? My spaghetti bolognese was not to the standard I expected from visiting prezzo before. Bland and dry. Other dishes were alright but level of service was unacceptable. We asked for the bill, waited ages for it. Then when we finally got it, waited another 20 minutes for card reader. I finally got up and politely asked at the bar for a card reader as we’ve been waiting a while. Two people behind the bar didn’t even SAY anything, not even ‘coming over now’. Bear in mind all this time we’d been waiting one waiter was sweeping the floor and the other polishing cutlery - from my waiting experience you don’t do these things when customers are waiting!!! We finally had someone come over with card reader. The guy wasn’t speaking!!!! We asked him if it was alright to split and he just looked at us without saying a word. We told him how we wanted to split and he just put it into the card reader, we paid and he left. Not even a thank you from him. We felt it was an unacceptable cold and unwelcoming attitude from the staff. We felt like we weren’t wanted there. We considered moving to Zizzi’s but friends convinced us to stay as we’d already ordered - much to...
Read moreMe and my girlfriend made reservations for Saturday 6th November. We required a later table because of earlier plans so we were sure to check availability on the website. We booked our table at 10:15 and arrived at the restaurant with everything appearing to be running smoothly, we were seated promptly but were extremely rushed throughout our meal. The waitress who brought our drinks threw our drinks onto the table spilling our drinks without any apology, then seconds later she had her coat on and left the premises as it must of been the end of her shift but we felt like an inconvenience. Our starters came and tasted fine and then our mains came before we could even finish and the waiter then couldn’t even fit all of the plates onto our table, because it was so full. We even had to use table next to us to clear our own plates because no one was focused on meeting our diner needs. As we were still enjoying our main the shift leader came and put our bill on the table and then my girlfriend questioned whether we could have desserts because this was our date night. He appeared to be shocked at the thought of having to give us dessert at this time even though the restaurant is supposedly open till late. He proceeded to give us the desert menu and rushed us for our choice as we were still eating our mains. He then said “sorry, I need to cash up, I hope you don’t have cash” so we then had to place our dessert order there and then or otherwise he wouldn’t have done it. Our dessert came and all the staff appeared to be having a group gathering while we were still eating not paying any attention to its customers still in the building. We were not the only couple to feel like this. My girlfriend even had to go and get her own drink at the bar area because the staff are not attentive. If the staff are not willing to work at these hours why advertise you do? because we seemed like a hindrance more than a happy...
Read moreWalking into Prezzo today it was quiet and we were sat very quickly by a lovely male server (didn’t catch his name but he had a septum piercing). He was incredibly accommodating and when I asked for a calorie free menu he went out of his way to go and find one! We ordered drinks and decided to go alcohol free, we tried both the strawberry and blood orange lemonade which were very tasty and well worth the money. The food was also very flavourful. We ordered calamari to start which was beautifully seasoned and wasn’t too chewy and the Tartar sauce was a nice compliment to them. For mains we had the chicken Alfredo which was once again beautiful, creamy and flavourful. The spaghetti bolognese was well seasoned and very tasty! And the chicken and pepper pizza was cooked beautifully, crispy base and lots of flavour!
Unfortunately the visit felt almost spoiled by the attitude of servers. It did take a good 20 minutes for us to even have our order taken but the food came out very quickly. When I asked a different server for a sharper knife/ pizza cutter for the pizza she looked at me with a very ‘fed up’ expression and then quite rudely pointed at the table we were sat at if to say go and sit down. After paying we waited for our friend to use the toilet and were stared at by a server who seemed annoyed that we were waiting around. Then whilst going to leave we said thank you (common decency) and were met with a very aggressive ‘bye.’ Nothing else. You would think after spending a considerable amount of money in a restaurant the customer service would be a lot more friendly. I work in the service industry and I understand it can be frustrating but unfortunately I wasn’t the only one in our group who felt the passive aggressiveness of the servers.
All in all; tasty food and drinks. The male server who sat us and took our order was lovely. It’s just a shame it was let down by the...
