Stopped by here for a coffee while on holiday as I was missing my usual daily homemade flat white, this place caught my attention as it describes itself as a coffee house, so I was hoping for a good coffee.

The service was great, the staff were friendly, and it had a nice atmosphere and the prices seemed in line with what I would expect. I ordered a flat white but was very disappointed with the drink.

The espresso part didn’t taste particularly good, not sure if it wasn’t dialled in correctly or the beans were not a good quality, but it definitely wasn’t up to the standard I would expect of a coffee house, maybe more what I would expect from a pub with an instant machine.

The milk part was even more disappointed. I would expect the milk in a flat white to be a smooth silky microfoam evenly distributed through the drink, but instead it has absolutely no texture to speak of. More akin to milk heated in a saucepan or microwave. It came out scolding hot with a distinct overheated milk taste. While waiting for it to cool it formed a thick skin on the surface.

I can’t speak for the food or ice cream on offer, but I definitely wouldn’t go in expecting a good coffee, disappointing for a...

Amazing staff, all were so friendly and helpful. We left feeling like we had made friends, if only for an afternoon. Thank you so much.

Location is terrific, right on the harbor. It has lovely views out over the harbor, including the fishing boats tied up to the seawall and the classic buildings that wrap around the harbor. If your are lucky enough to good weather and it's available, there is one small bistro table on their balcony that would be the perfect location. Sadly, there is a construction project in the harbor this summer and it is too noisy to sit outside. There is bar-height table at the window as well.

Food was excellent. Staff recommendations were spot on. Our daughter is very picky and they came up with an "off menu" sandwich option for her with a baguette and red Leicester cheese. She was SO happy...

So called in today 15.25, for a take away sandwich and coffee for myself and a sandwich and a tea for my partner, 3 customers queuing in front of me, ice cream , food order, ice-cream, then me so queuing for 12 minutes and I get kitchens closed, so 4 minutes earlier it was open as I observed you take an order, dumbfounded at the sheer lack of customer service, seems to be run by children, piece of advice customers are your business, communicate with them, don't allow them to stand waiting for service for 12 minutes then slap them in the face, I wouldn't...

I came here about 6 months ago and they were offering gluten free options but not anymore - which is a real shame. If you are lucky I'd call about the soup of the day. This one I had was super nice (just no bread). I recommend the flat white. The matcha latte for me was too weak (but you may love it!) Views are really nice and I like coming here for the table on the terrace. When it is sunny (like when I went), it was really nice. Just go even if it to have a drink. Stuff is very nice 🙂

Lovely location, fantastic food and delicious coffee. Service was fast, friendly and efficient. They helped us with the pram and sat us upstairs. Only thing I'd recommend is a highchair or 2 for children but ours behaved on the big chairs (for once) so didn't affect experience. Roast turkey baguette and croque monsieur were scrumptious. Special note on the crockery as well, the coffee cups and plates were rustic/funky!

A warming bowl of broth and a toasted baguette was welcome after a chilly walk around Stonehaven bay. The addition of a delicious brownie plus mint tea rounded off a perfect lunch. The bill was just over £20, with soup being £7. Prices everywhere have gone up so I guess that's just to be expected these days. The quality of the food is high and it is an occasional treat, so I don't resent paying for it.
