Pergola brunch — Restaurant in Great Britain

Mixed review of Pergola. Decor very nice, toilets very clean and nicely decorated. Staff friendly. We had a table booked for 1pm for 3 adults, 1 child (who wasn’t eating). We ordered drinks and food shortly after. We were waiting 40 mins before any food was brought over, asked 20 mins in if everything was okay to which I replied that we were waiting for our food. I would normally be more forgiving if the place was busy but there was 1 other table with 2 people in the cafe. Our food order came out wrong 3 times. I was then told they did not have any halloumi - the menu doesn’t have much of a selection for vegetarians so not having halloumi wasn’t ideal. My order then came out on the wrong bread but I didn’t say anything as we had already been waiting over 40 mins by this point. The soup was tasty and perfect temperature but the sandwich didn’t have much flavour to it. The other people at the table enjoyed their food. The bill then had the wrong food on it which the friendly waitress was happy to change to the correct amount. The staff were apologetic and friendly but it has put me off...

First of all I would like to point out that the customer service was really good here and the staff were all lovely. However... The food was very disappointing. I ordered the avacado with poached eggs on sourdough and on cutting into the eggs loads of water poured out of them.

My son ordered the Belgium waffles- these came with one stingy strawberry and a scoop of ice cream. I had to ask for more strawberries which was brought put at no extra charge. Waffles were not homemade either.

There is no kids menu so asked for a small portion of French toast with strawberries and nuttella for my youngest. They brought out 2 of the tiniest pieces of French toast I've ever seen and 1 strawberry cut up! When the bill came they charged me £8.50 (full price) for the kids meal which I questioned and they eventually reduced this to reflect the kids portion.

I also asked for a flat white and they brought me a late... apparently they don't know what a flat white is?? I went to bica round the corner for a coffee after this and wish we had just went...

Yesterday, a few friends and I decided to go for a wee gals day brunch, we’re not local so made the trip special after seeing Pergola on social media. However, we all found the experience to be extremely disappointing. From receiving dirty glasses, a hot chocolate which was clearly served in the wrong glass, and bacon which had to be sent back. My personal issue was with my latte. I had ordered an oat milk latte due to a dairy intolerance, my friend ordered a latte with normal milk. When the lattes came over, I asked which one was oat milk, and it was unknown. Had I not asked, this could have been a very serious issue. We were told the lattes would be remade, however, while my friends was clearly remade, mine was left, causing all the syrup to pile at the bottom.
