Agree completely with previous review by C Son that after going here for previous 20 years ,the atmosphere and ambience of a once joyful and welcoming restaurant has been totally lost, such a shame, advise to totally avoid. The new owner is absolutely miserable and despite us creating a very hefty bill between just two people he could not recover from his upset of us requesting a different table than he offered us on arrival, he avoided us all evening and could barely bring himself to say goodbye to us as we were leaving …quite ludicrous behaviour really. He was borderline bully, very unpleasant. At first there was ONE waiter for over 12 tables and it was complete chaos. Eventually a second waiter came to help, but never spoke to us once, much like the owner, who stands around looking Confused and unhappy. My friends ricotta cannelloni had been microwaved so long it was literally molten hot and he had to wait 10 minutes before being able to attempt to eat it. The bruschetta and olives were very nice. But the house red wine was very poor, the seafood tagliatelle mean, the marguerites largely lime juice and we weren’t even offered desert or coffee, it was too chaotic and/or they couldn’t be bothered. We felt sorry for the one waiter and gave him a tip for his efforts but we will not be returning. The traditional intimate Italian experience has been stripped and replaced with too many tiny tables too close to each other with not enough staff and a ton of bad attitude from the...
Read moreMy husband and I went to Pinocchio (Italian cuisine) and we expected good Italian-style food. Unfortunately the experience was way more than disappointing.
Starters were small in size, but nice.
After the starters, we got 2 pizzas with dolcelatte cheese (sweet blue cheese), but the dough was exactly like Pizza Ristorante, the frozen pizza you buy at the supermarket. We were told it was hand-made, but the dough was 100% frozen. Also, those pizzas were pretty small.
Obviously, we sent them back and tried some pasta. We ordered linguine with salmon (there was also cream and tomato).
The pasta came too soon, and this is not a good sign of fresh food.
Once again, this dish was very low quality. The pasta was over-cooked and the tomato sauce overpowered the salmon, which you could barely taste. The tomato sauce didn’t taste fresh, at all. The whole dish didn’t. We were also told that the salmon wasn’t fresh (local).
We just ate the pasta because we were pretty hungry and it was late for us to leave and find a better restaurant.
The original total (without the 50% discount from the government and including 2 glasses of wine) was £53.50! Luckily, thanks to the government discount, we paid £33.50. Nevertheless, the quality of the food was really low.
Service was nice, but the food experience was a big...

I recently had the pleasure of dining at Pinocchio in Bournemouth, and it was an absolutely delightful experience! From the moment I walked in, I was greeted with warm hospitality and an inviting atmosphere that instantly made me feel at home.
The menu is a true celebration of Italian cuisine, offering a fantastic selection of traditional dishes, nothing short of perfection. The pasta was cooked to al dente perfection, and the rich, flavourful sauce was clearly made with love and authentic ingredients.
The service was impeccable throughout the evening. The staff were attentive, friendly, and knowledgeable about the menu, which made the dining experience even more enjoyable.
Overall, Pinocchio is a gem in Bournemouth, offering an authentic taste of Italy with exceptional service and a welcoming atmosphere. I can't recommend this restaurant highly enough and will definitely be...
