Muffin Break Cardiff — Restaurant in Wales

The manager is always so nitpicky and harsh with his staff I actually feel really bad for them, this place seems like the worst managed cafe I have ever had the misfortune to visit. I could see the stress and anxiety in the person at the counters eyes; especially when the manager was around. Another Especially worrying thing is that everytime I have been in for coffee, there has been completely different members of staff on shift to the extent that their turn over of staff must be tremendous, its baffling how they get anyone to work there in the first place!

The muffins: Sadly the muffins the cafe are known for are awfully bland and homogeneous, At first I assumed I'd just got a bad muffin batch but after trying most of the flavours out of morbid curiosity, I can say that they barely have any flavour beyond the taste of the flour and the sparse, overly sweet topping. Since this place is a chain I imagine this isn't the fault of the staff but the responsibility of those who created the chain menu.

The only things of value in this establishment are the duffins which are novel and the lovely staff (not including the seemingly heinous management obviously).

Go to tescos instead, their muffins are way better.

Muffin Break always catches the eye, because it’s a corner shop in the St David’s Mall.

The best thing about this place is their friendly and hospitable staff, and the quick service, especially Harish & Megha who’s always given me good suggestions!

Have visited here often, mostly for their hot chocolates, coffee and muffins. I mostly go for Terry Orange Hot chocolate, and it tastes good. The last time I visited, I took suggestion from Harish and tried their Duck Wrap for the first time, which was surprisingly good.

The place can get busy often due to its location, but the service has always been quick for me. There’s also enough seating, has a decent ambience and is kept neat and clean.

The shop caught my eye as I was browsing the mall, My family & guest were accompanying me and our hunger goggles were on, So we started picking out the fancy Cupcakes. my mom noticed several flies on one of the Cupcakes on the shelf. I was shocked to see bugs and crawlers on that muffin, We pointed it out to the sales person who himself was taken by surprise, as soon as he lifted that particular muffin, several flies flew and landed on other muffins!! we were truly disgusted and I was embarrassed to have chosen this place to treat my guest.. we canceled our order and walked out ...having consumed contaminated items Could cause a serious health risk, management should take notice and ensure fresh and clean food items.....visited on...
