Food was very tasty but service very poor. Only 2 people were visibly working - on the till, taking orders, cleaning tables etc. Nobody was there to greet customers, we have to call their attention. Our first time to eat there and we have had to ask what's the difference between ordering a bbq meal and thru the menu as nobody cared to explain. They also gave the main meal just a few minutes after they gave the starter ones which meant it was getting cold while we were still eating the starter. But the thing that got me miffed most was the 15% recommended service charge that they automatically added when you put your card in. Our bill came up to just over £47 and my friend offered to use her card and I'd pay her my share. I already got the 10% cash for tip ready but then when the machine was given to my friend to use her card, she did not notice that there was a recommended 15% service charge automatically added until she's already swiped her card. Also , the receipt did not show the 15% service charge, would that even go to the staff? Yes, I think it's always nice to give a tip to a restaurant which I always do at least 10% or a little bit more if the service was great. But I totally did not agree with what this restaurant did, I think it's a bit deceiving. Suffice to say I wouldn't go back nor recommend it to my friends, even though the food was tasty, it was wasted by the poor service and the tip issue. We went to Costco for our dessert and coffee instead. Sorry to share our bad experience but just a wee warning to anyone so they are aware what to expect. I hope the management will read this and make...
Read moreTucked away in a secluded corner of Glasgow town lies a hidden gem of Korean cuisine that promises to tantalise your taste buds. Seoul Korean BBQ restaurant offers a culinary journey through the flavours of Korea, and my recent dining experience left me utterly impressed.
From the moment I stepped inside, I was greeted with the inviting aroma of sizzling meats and the promise of a memorable meal. The menu boasts a variety of Korean delights, but it was the seafood pancake that first caught my attention. Generously filled with a plethora of seafood, each bite was a delightful mix of flavours and textures, perfectly complemented by the accompanying sauce.
Next up was the Beef Japchae, a glass noodle stir-fry that exceeded all expectations. The noodles were cooked to perfection, and the sauce coated them with just the right amount of flavour, resulting in a dish that was nothing short of perfection. Every mouthful was a symphony of taste sensations, leaving me craving for more.
But the true star of the show was the variety of meats provided for the Korean BBQ. Despite ordering a set for two, the portions were incredibly generous, with enough meat to satisfy three hungry diners. Each cut was expertly marinated and impeccably fresh, ensuring a dining experience that was nothing short of divine.
In conclusion, this restaurant is a must-visit destination for anyone in search of authentic Korean cuisine in Glasgow. With its delicious dishes, generous portions, and secluded ambiance, it's the perfect spot for a memorable...
Read moreI visited Soeul Korean Restaurant today to order a takeaway from the lunch menu — I ordered chicken teriyaki. While waiting, I sat on a chair near the door and window. Then, a Chinese staff member who took my order came up to me and very rudely told me to get up, saying that the chairs were only for customers. I was surprised and upset because I am a customer as well, waiting for my takeaway. The restaurant was completely empty — not a single other table was occupied — so there was no reason to treat me like that.
He told me to sit at a small, uncomfortable wooden table instead, and his tone was extremely disrespectful and unkind. When another staff member, an Indian girl, saw me standing, she politely asked why. I explained what happened, and she immediately apologised on his behalf. She even offered me a Korean drink to make up for his behaviour, which was very kind of her.
However, the same man continued to stare at me rudely. It was very humiliating, uncomfortable, and honestly felt racist.
I really appreciate the girl’s kindness and apology, but the male staff member’s behaviour was completely unacceptable. I left feeling very disrespected and...
