The Manchurian | Dim Sum Restaurant 翠竹軒 — Restaurant in Great Britain

Our daughter had eaten here a few weeks ago with her friends, and wanted to go back for her birthday meal. So, my wife and I told her to book it. When she did, she checked if their lift was working, because my wife is disabled and uses a wheelchair. Turned out it was still broken, and they admitted it had been for a couple of years. OK, my wife said she'd cope with the stairs on her crutches since it was our daughter's birthday. It took some effort but she made it. The restaurant itself couldn't be described as cosy. The lighting was a bit harsh, but I guess it was functional. They also served take-away orders from the bar inside the restaurant itself, which meant a regular stream of take-away customers through the entrance, which did little for the ambiance. It also let cold air flow in more frequently than was comfortable. We ordered chicken and char siu steamed dumplings to start, which were delicious. My daughter had chicken in wine (on the bone), my wife had sweet chilli shredded chicken and I had chicken with green pepper and black bean sauce. All the food was tasty (we had some of each others), we enjoyed it, and the service was decent. Once we'd finished, my wife needed to visit the toilet before we left and asked where the disabled toilet was. This is where the night was a little spoiled, due to various issues with access and cleanliness, which I've written more about in the wheelchair accessibility section. I've visited this Chinese restaurant multiple times when I'm in the mood for some delicious Asian cuisine, and I've always had a good experience here. The restaurant offers a reasonable variety of dim sum, although the portions can be quite small and slightly pricy compared to other dim sum places I've been to. However, one standout dish for me is definitely the seafood crispy noodles - I always make sure to order this dish when I visit. The noodles are crispy and well-cooked, and the seafood is always fresh and flavorful. I also tried the beef noodles, which had a really fragrant broth that was full of flavor. The broth was rich and savory, and the beef was cooked to perfection. The three roast fried noodles were okay, although the meat wasn't the freshest and could have been better. Another dish that really impressed me was the XO seafood udon. The dish had just the right amount of spice and the seafood was cooked to perfection. The udon noodles were also perfectly cooked and had a great texture. Overall, this Chinese restaurant is definitely worth a visit if you're looking for some delicious Asian cuisine. So bad experience, I have not been to such a bad restaurant before. Better not to go. The staff forget my order which makes me waiting for more than one hour. He put my order aside without reasonable explanation. Then I go to a Japan restaurant. I feel very upset. I am a Chinese in the U.K. I have studied in the U.K. for many year. I can not image this service. They treat us inappropriate. When we decide to go and complain to the supervisor in the restaurant. He even do not be responsible to help us. As a Chinese, I love my country and Chinese food. I have been to many Chinese restaurant in the U.K. All of Them have nice service and delicious food. The environment is so loud.
