First time I have been in this cafe .Ordered a bacon roll very expensive for a microwave bacon roll. Why oh why would you microwave bacon when it could be fried or grilled , it was all fatty and greasy awful.Brioche bun was nice though , brown sauce a bit watery and not very nice .Could not eat roll as bacon was inedible .Had a coconut praline slice of cake £3 expensive but was z huge chunk .Could not find any praline in it at all .Tasted nice until it came to edges it was burnt black but hidden by topping .Why be so lazy when you could trim off burnt bit's of sponge .Tea loose but very very expensive double the price of other places and not even great tea .Hate the wooden boards that food is served on I always think they look dirty and unhygienic. Lastly I am disabled went into toilet floor sailing with water .Plus the horror of lights plunging out mid use of toilet I was stuck as I never knew what was happening .Apparently it's something they have had for a while just needs timer altering .Well do it its frightening for disabled people being plunged into darkness .No warning sign to tell people .Lastly I mentioned floor was wet and look and behold girl with short blonde hair took a white cotton tea towel with red stripe and wiped up toilet floor yugh hope she does not use that near food in the kitchen .Only good thing was staff were friendly and informal and in fact they were eating and drinking behind the counter which perhaps shows a lack of professionalism but in my opinion it's nice to know the staff like the food .At one point 4 of them were eating out of 5 .Won't go back disappointing and very expensive for microwave...
Read moreStaff member told the manager that my partner supposedly called her a name given to that of a female dog, even though we were having a conversation with our friend that had nothing to do with the cafe in fact. The manager proceeded to become very confrontational as if the confrontation was based on solid fact, rather than heresay. They must play a game of Chinese whispers with customers without telling them (lol) 'cause the phrase "that was patter" doesn't seem to sound anything like the word b*h. We looked so confused as to what had apparently even been uttered that was so shocking (no idea how he didn't pick up on that considering we had to ask him llf.) How this man is a business owner I'll never know however I digress. I proceeded to also become confrontational as I was provoked as my girlfriend who coincidentally also has very high functioning autism was becoming overwhelmed because this all came out of absolute nowhere with no debate about it. All in all, don't breathe, don't speak, just point. Point to your order and maybe, just maybe you'll walk away from the flame tree cafe without them confronting you about...
Read moreHad a lovely lunch here with some friends yesterday as they knew I was vegan and this place had options.
Unfortunately they didn't have any vegan bacon which took out alot of the options I fancied in the menu, Not the end of the world though food ruins out. Ended up with the BBQ jackfruit panini which was ok but a little cold in the middle of the Panini.
Coffee was very good and a very cool layout.
Service was a little cold. There is no one really clearing tables asking if everything is ok etc, and as we left I said "thank you guys" and out of the 5 staff behide the till area one of them smiled and the other 4 didn't even look up, again not the end of the world but maybe something for the owner to think about.
Overall would recommend but some improvements would make...
