Was a disappointing experience, although the decor was beautiful the food lacked the same standard. I had a pea panna cotta which resembled a whipped mousse and was very sickly not what I would have expected to receive as a panna cotta, we also had the ham starter which was just chips covered in cheese sauce the same frozen fries we received with our mains. Our sons burger came out with the started and upon seeing it I wasn't looking forward to my own the meat didn't look very appealing and was just a over cooked burger in a bun with fries and very very cheap vinegary pale tomato sauce (£10 for a burger and you don't even get Heinz!!). Mine came and was a little better than his it wasnt overcooked i had the moroccan burger but again not what I expected in quality my partners the same and he had the chicken it was spicy but that was all, we all skipped dessert, we weren't going to waste anymore money! I couldnt even blame the food being so bad because they were so busy because they werent it was empty. If you want a burger you may aswell pop round the corner to McDonald's at least your going to get what you pay for there. Definitely not what we expected for such a hyped up new restaurant and won't be returning again unfortunetly. 2 stars for decor and a satisfactory service by...
Read moreMe and my wife visited the yard today just for a bite to eat. We asked to be seated for two to be told they were struggling for tables???? Most tables were empty. We had a drink at the bar and whilst waiting to see if they could set a table up (knifes and forks) my wife spoke to the manager who then led us to a table that was empty. It seems that the staff we encountered today cannot work under their own initiative and were clueless. After getting seated I asked the member of staff dealing with us for a double plain cheese burger. Only to be told that they couldn't add another burger to a normal burger for less than £5. Making it £16 for burger and chips. So we went for a normal plain chesse burger that when came, had to be sent back because it wasn't plain. My wife had risotto and that when it came was tasteless. All in all this place seems to be run by staff who cannot work without instruction. So many people including the chefs stood about. General customer service is appalling and the quality of the food is not good. Me and my wife run a business in Derby and if any of my staff were as lazy and unproductive as the ones I witnessed today I would shove a rocket...
Read moreShocking. Even though we visited on a Friday night, it was absolutely dead. Whilst it was dead, the service was shocking. There were plenty of staff but they say about just chatting, and completely ignoring the almost no customers there were in the venue.
Had the service been on the ball, we could have easily done another round, but the staff at no point came over to ask if everything was ok... and we were there for 3 hours!!!
3 hours, one meal (no starter, no dessert) and only 2 rounds. Oh and we didn't have dessert because we didn't want it, but we weren't asked.
The food was average, the decor is great, and if the staff made even a tiny bit of effort this place might be ok. But the staff are far more interested in socialising with their friends who were visiting, and chatting amongst themselves than doing their jobs.
Overall...
