Another fantastic Indian restaurant for me to review. This was a last minute decision on a Sunday evening for a group of 10 of us to eat. My friend phoned and they were more than accommodating to have us in. My wife and friends had noticed the sign for a Sunday special for £14.95 as they had come back from the cinema. A starter, a main, a rice/nann and side dish. Perfect for a couple as I ordered nann and wife had rice so we shared each other's. We all had a different array of starters and were surprised by the size. I had onion bhaji which was 4 mini bhajis very nice and not greasy at all. Everyone was satisfied and no complaints just empty plates. The staff were really polite friendly and helpful. Nothing was to much. When the main meal arrived for 10 there were no mistakes and nothing missing. Again nothing was greasy, the rice was light and fluffy, my madras was great flavourful and came with a kick. So many of the main dishes looked so appetising and I think I would have been happy to have anything that was brought out. The sagg aloo was very good, I truly couldn't complain and everyone else felt the same. 10 very satisfied customers. The cleanliness of the restaurant was very good. A great experience overall. Well worth a visit, and you can't beat the price for the huge amount of food we got. On my harsh scoring system I would put this as a 4.6* which is incredibly high for me. Not mant get such a high mark. I will definitely try this for a takeaway and be returning for more...
Read moreThought we'd head to Misha as the Google reviews show 4.8/5 star!
Arrived and saw the food hygiene rating sign saying 4/5, so we were a bit confused, given the great reviews. But benefit of the doubt, and gave it a shot anyway.
Staff: Welcoming and friendly :)
Presentation of dishes: Fine, nothing outstanding, but it seemed wasteful and didn't look particularly good that the rice came out of a plastic container!
Taste of dishes: We were very excited to go to come here, as we love Indian cuisine! We were expecting that burst of flavours and fragrance that we've experienced in a lot of Indian restaurants in the UK. Unfortunately it was quite the contrary and incredibly disappointing - some things rather unacceptable. The sauces tasted like out of a jar with a bland taste and peculiar texture, and some of the vegetables were visibly stale. The portion sizes were disappointing too. To us, the food was all in all very unappetising and an insult to the beautiful Indian cuisine.
We're just confused why the reviews are so high, but hopefully Misha can live up to them at some point in the future. Sorry guys, we were really looking forward to eating here, but what is going on! After such a disappointing experience we won't be back, as it's left a bad taste in our mouths. Win some, lose some, but I'd recommend my friends and family to spend their money...
Read moreWe went to the opening evening of this new Indian restaurant. We were warmly welcomed by the manager/owner who showed us to our table. The menu was quite comprehensive with some tasty sounding chef's specials in addition to the everyday dishes found in most other Indian restaurants. For starters my wife had the King Prawn Puree and I had the Seafood Sizzler, a delicious mix of prawns mussels and calamari spiced up with peppers, onion and chillies. For our main courses we opted for some regional specialities. I had the Chicken Achari which had a spicy tomato and onion sauce. My wife had Chicken Shatkora which had a fruity, lemon sauce. Both of these dishes were delicious, although the Shatkora was a little too lemony for her taste but if you don't try it, you'll never know! Our waitress, Larissa, was very polite and helpful. With four side dishes, the whole lot came to just over £50 which we thought was good value. We thoroughly enjoyed our visit and will definitely...
