Came to Yarmouth to see friends and family and thought I'd give this place a try. Worse food and hospitality ever. The so called manager Raj cared more about what I wrote on here, then my food order, several he came over, not to ask if I wanted our drinks topped up, but to see if I had written a review yet, and kept telling me not to forget his name is Raj. Felt so uncomfortable, he was just plain rude. The waitress was no better either, she forgot out drinks, every time I tried to get her attention she would blank me, waited half an hour before I had to get up and get them myself, no apology, actually looked like I was putting her out, just kissed her teeth under her breath. I just couldn't believe the rudeness! Food eventually came and I almost puked with the first mouthful. Looked good but I could taste something wasn't right with the chicken. My knife and fork didn't look like it had been washed, neither did my plate. It came over on a dirty trolley with old food that was stuck under my plate. Got up and asked to speak to the owner, and the rude girl pointed to the kitchen door, I pushed it open and I stood there shocked and disgusted at the state of the kitchen. I could see raw chicken sitting next to mouldy cooked chicken, inches from the floor, along with onions and other veg, mouldy red peppers and tomatoes under a table right in front of me. You could see the same chopping board and knife was being used for everything. As I stood there in complete and utter shock, my eyes just rolled around the kitchen and I could see dust, mouldy food, mould on the tiles, the floor was black. No concept for food health and safety. No hygiene. Told the owner I wasn't happy with my food, and he snapped and started abusing me. I paid for my drinks and left. I've now heard from friends and family that they over spice there meat so you can't taste the gone of meat, and that local people don't eat there as they know it's reputation. If I didn't walk in that kitchen, I wouldn't have known that the meat was off, and I do strongly feel this is the case for people who...
Read moreWas on a holiday, was looking for halal food and came across this restaurant from the reviews.
Restaurant needs to be refurbished. Had to wait for a table due to lack of waiters. No greeting from front of house staff, had to look for a waiter. Got greeted by someone wearing shorts lol. Had to wait for 20 minutes when there was 3 tables with 12 seats available. Due to the lack of staff table needed to be cleaned.
Once seated had to address the waitress to come and take my order (which appeared to be a bit rude but something needed to be done to bring her attention).
Ordered papadoms (got charged £5.90, I'm not entirely sure as to why, but not going to fight over a fiver, however it's the principle. Felt like been cheated), lamb rogan was very bland. Chicken tika massala very sweet, garlic naan was good and pilau rice wasn't a good quality rice. Appeared to be microwaved and not fluffy and fresh.
Food was below par and not what im use to when it comes to Indian food coming from London.
The waiter was a one man show, taking orders, bringing orders and drinks. Cleaning the table and also sorting out the bills. The owner needs to invest in another waiter was overworked. Had to go to the till to pay for the food as didn't want to wait for the bill as the poor fella was overworked as it was. The one waitress had no clue.
Regarding the price of food it was more expensive than your bog standard Indian in London. Price doesn't justify with the restaurant decor and service.
Wouldn't...
Read moreI am so saddened by my experience here. My partner had checked online for good places to eat and from the reviews we picked this place. However our experience left us with a sour taste 😔 As we enter the establishment we see many tables free however the waiter tells my partner after looking at us that there are no spaces available. I assumed maybe the spaces were reserved however my partner did not. We stood outside and my partner called to book a space for 5 people in 10 mins and the person on call continued to say there is spaces available and to come through. On the plus we did go to Jaipur not to far away, they were very accommodating, friendly and the food was delicious. Rather then making fake profiles, this business should be bigger an apologies for what they did to me. The day was rather chilly and having to search outside the savoy for a new restaurant with my child in the cold is the saddening part. Note response: Thank you for taking accountability and please be assured I do not lie. First of all we did not sit down, but their were many seats available to sit down. Second the phone call wasn't for 1 hour, it was for 10 mins. (My partner had a gut feeling your staff were lying, please also note if you were full we were planning to take a takeaway.) The other accounts are people who are upset with how me and my family...
