Dolce&Salato Guildford — Restaurant in Guildford

I visit this place regularly around 3,/4 times a week, I have bought cakes biscuits ice cream etc from them, each and every single time I have been in I have always asked for a coffee, and so far I have never had one... I have visited over the last 3 months and every time I get told WE HAVE NO MILK !!! What an absolute lame excuse ! I have had family and friends go in on the off chance and we all laughed as they all said the same they were told they had no milk..... I think they don't like using their coffee machines and would rather you had an ice cream or pizza to takeaway and not sit around havibg coffee... real let down to be honest..... I visited this sunday In the evening there was a tall young guy with black wavy hair he said there was no milk, I commented to him and told him there is akwsys no milk, I told him I was going to put a review about this no milk thing, he turned around and just said sorry ! We ended up having an ice cream . So if the owner would like to confirm this with his staff he will realise this is all true. His staff are always saying...

Such a disappointment in every level. I went in with my partner and asked for coffees and an aranchini. We said we would sit in and have everything at the table. A sign says that you get a free pastry with your coffee but the bartender said that it's only with take away coffees which is fine, a nice gesture but we can do without it. Then she chucked two take away cups in front of us, my partner's flat white was nothing like a flat white, it was a huge latte which didn't even taste good. The staff was very rude, the woman said that next time I should mention that I want the coffees in china...I don't recall any restaurant, where you need to order your food and mention that you want it in plates and not in paper box. :D And if it's a take away coffee at the end then why didn't we get the gratis pastries as well? Anyway, loud annoying music, rude stuff, below average coffee. I wanted to support this new business but definitely won't...

I went for the pizza, which was very good, base sauce and caramelised onion were particularly nice, but then I saw the apple crumble gelato... That was one of the best things I've ever eaten. I haven't had apple ice cream or gelato outside of Austria and a couple of other European spots, and this was exceptional even compared against one of my very favourite things. I wish I'd bought an entire freezer worth.

To address some of the negative reviews - Service was nice and friendly, no problem there. I think part of the issue is people using deliveroo. Due to the nature of this kind of proper pizza you are better off collecting and eating within 10 to 15 mins. We gave up on deliveroo after never having received an order on time, remotely warm, edible, complete or in one case it wasn't received at all as they couldn't be bothered to find where we lived despite me texting them a map.
