Avoid at all costs! The pub has recently implemented a parking machine but with little signage. Especially tricky to see if you come after dark. Having visited here for many, many years, I wasn’t expecting it and paid at the opposite side of the bar to the machine so didn’t see that either. So you can imagine I was very confused when a parking fine came through the post. Expecting to call the pub and have them just sort it out straight away they denied all accountability and told me to speak to the parking company. I did this, showing the receipt from my purchase of a meal, but the parking company insisted on fining me anyway, saying I hadn’t done what I was supposed to do and so the fine would be upheld. On contacting the pub again they refused to help in any way. They wouldn’t return my calls or reply to my emails. I have been coming to the pub with a group once a month for many many years. Most of us will eat a meal and have a couple of drinks, but unfortunately due to this debacle, they’ve now lost it one, but several customers. I’ve worked in customer service most of my life and this is one of those instances where even if there was nothing they could do, and it was up to the parking company, they should’ve really offered me a voucher at the very least. That’s what I would’ve done in their position. Even before this happened our last three or four times of visiting had been a disaster. Meals have been cold and dry, many menu items weren’t available, and often drinks showing as being on tap were actually empty. I don’t know what’s happened here but the whole place seems to have become a complete shambles. We visit on the same night as the open mic, and I’ve noticed that over the last couple of years attendance of that has dropped significantly. This really isn’t the pub it used to be and it’s...

Honestly the worst customer service I have ever received was from this pub! I went out with a group of 14 girls and we had prebooked a table earlier in the week, advised this was absolutely fine. When we arrived it was as if they had no idea we had booked. We were given a table for 10 people and then two separate tables for the remaining people which wasn't acceptable. We asked for a more appropriate table to be told if we could fine somewhere then to grab it. We managed to find a fab table in the garden, thinking that the worst was over... not the case! The kitchen had run out of all fish meals when we arrived which was dissapointing but everyone found something they liked off the menu. Whilst ordering most of us we're advised that the wait for food was around 20-25 minutes which is acceptable. The waitress came out not long after we had all ordered advising for one of us who had ordered a steak (the most expensive meal on the menu) that she had about a 40 minute wait. No offer of compensation and only settled to give her a free starter after being promted a few times. An hour after we ordered, about 8 of the meals came out but we had to ask a few times for cutlery to be given out. An hour following this, another 4 meals came out (including the steak that was cooked well done even though medium rare was ordered). The final two meals were clearly forgotten about and cooked as it then took another 30 minutes after having to constantly ask the waitress where the food was. No meal check at all, not even when serving. They actually even waited for us to leave before they cleared up the plates as god forbid they'd offer compensation for their shocking service! Food wasn't even that nice! I'll go to...

I would not even give this pub one star for a review if I had a choice! I booked a table for 14 people for Wednesday 5th July as a celebration with our tutors for completing our course at college! What appalling service and food! The chef could not cope with our order! They ran out of all fish content meals so we all had had either beef burgers, chicken burgers or just starters! One person asked for a steak medium rare which was dearest meal on menu was told it would be 40 min to wait (for medium rare!) well that person received their well done steak which was not what she ordered before my chicken burger, which I was told would be a wait of 25 min! Everyone on my table had received their meal and eaten it while I waited 2 hours for a chicken burger dripping with grease burnt skinny fries and coleslaw! It was poor quality food! I only ate my chicken burger as by the time I received my meal I was past the hungry stage! I would not recommend to anyone when I kept complaining saying I was the only one still waiting for my meal at the bar the bar man held his finger up and said I am serving this customer and basically ignored me! I then went to toilet came out where I saw the waitress so I said I am still waiting on my chicken burger 2 hours after order! All I got from her was the same finger in air saying it's just coming and she walked off! No sorry or nothing 15 mins later it came out I ate on my own as everyone else had eaten way way before then! I still got no sorry for delay or reason why!!! No offer of compensation!!!!! Worst experience of dining out in my life! None of my group would ever return there again!!!!! Burger King is much better and that's saying...

The Kings Head has definitely got its crown back since Lee Walker & Tim Skinner took over! It’s just so wonderful to see the Kings Head, back to being such a wonderful pub with a very welcoming atmosphere. I love the fact that there is now live music pretty much every week - including Gavin Thomas & every month the amazing Charley Farley Sunday Four! Also for anyone that loves skiffle music & Ukulele music (I am a massive Lonnie Donegan & Joe Brown fan) - you defo won’t be disappointed- if you have never seen The Nefarious Picaroons before - they are incredible! The fact it is such a dog & puppy friendly pub as well is so lovely - there is even a dog menu for furr babies so they don’t stare at you whilst your tucking into a delicious Roast 🐾🐾 Thank you so much Lee & Tim for making the Kings Head a lovely wonderful pub again!

Lovely Family Sunday Lunch 02/08/2020 - Food was delicious & great size portions, the roast beef was cooked perfectly. Our waitress Amelia was very attentive & helped greatly with our fussy eater. We didn’t have to wait long for service or food & the atmosphere is very relaxed, this made our visit all the more enjoyable. The pub it’s self is very clean, with lovely clean toilets. The management & pub team are doing a fantastic job dealing with the COVID-19 situation. All in all a very enjoyable experience.

Tough to only have 2 maybe three people working on a weekend. Waiting for a beer took a while and at one point nobody was in the serving area for 3-4 minutes. Saw people walk in, wait, and then leave which is too bad. I was told to try the food here but they didn't have wings or nachos ingredients so I settled for a few beers. Unfortunately without any food we wanted we left. Nice outdoor patio area to the side but only one of the heating lamps worked so spots were limited if the sun wasn't hitting you.
