hello family folks friends travellers barry here and again i write about a lovely little place i happened to find with my girlfriend when i was on my holidays in yorkshire please read on! Nestled in the beautiful little village of Castleton lies Dollys tea room we were peckish and decided to pop in glad we did! Dollys is simply a lovely wee place as soon as you walk in you will be met by the wonderful staff led by adam a great guy and there you can view the sumptious cakes and bakes they have to offer also you will see their lovely array of ice cream they have to offer to. so we sat down in the bright and breezy restaurant plenty of seats for all and ordered bacon and egg rolls and coffee well what can i say lovely sweet cure bacon perfectly cooked eggs in the lovliest soft rolls we were very happy and im not sure where they get it but the coffee was fantastic as well so nice so fresh no complaints at all really a really sweet little coffee shop run by really nice earthy people who really make the effort to give you a great bite to eat i cant reccomend Dollys anymore so glad we found it and popped in thanks to all the staff for making our visit so great so if your in Castleton stop by for great food drinks and hospitality thanks folks peace and love...

We wanted 5 cups of tea and 2 cream teas. The owner proceeded with a head count and and bought us out 7 cream teas!!
The owner entertained the children is his own strange way while we ate these cheap supermarket scones (Thank god these scones wasn't home made).
I was a bit concerned about food hygiene after visiting the toilet (looked and smelled like they'd not been cleaned for a number of years).
We asked for the bill, here was the shock, over £35, that's over £5 per cream tea!! He charged full price for the 2 kids (4 and 7 years old).
The whole place was strange, the price wasn't relative with the quality and service.
The only one positive thing about this experience was that none of us became ill and maybe came away with a stronger immune system.

We all ordered delicious rolls - one was bacon, one was Aberdeen angus steak and onion with dijon mayo (a special for £6.95) and one was hot roast pork, stuffing and apple sauce (another special - only £5.95 and one of the nicest sandwiches I’ve ever had, soo much filling and really thick slices of pork!). We picked a hot sausage roll to share which had super flaky pastry and well seasoned sausage meat! We also ordered cakes because the counter was just so appealing. We picked a slab of rocky road, an apple and blackcurrant slice and a hefty slice of the chocolate fudge cake which came with ice cream. All of these were delicious!
