I've always had great fun in donegans however the service isn't always the best. For food the service is brilliant but in the bar things aren't always the greatest. One bar man demanded that all my friends and I leave because 2/10 of us werent drinking. Another member of staff told my friend she was banned because of something that was completely unrelated to her. Another member of staff banned my friend because her friends friend snuck drink into the bar. One bar man also screamed at a friend of mine who had forgotten she had a bottle of wine in her bag and had offered to leave it behind the bar until she left. He screamed at her until she started crying and then took her wine off her, poured it all out and threw the bottle in the bin. She was also banned from the place. It seems donegans don't have much of a problem with banning whoever they feel like. However to give credit to the place, other than the trouble Ive had there, donegans has always been great. The food is absolutely amazing, the waiting staff are always very friendly with one waiter in paticular who always comes over for a chat with my family and I when we come for dinner and the live music is brilliant, especially taylor lally who plays every...

I don't write reviews though I had to on this occasion ,My family and I had a great time having a meal Donegan's I walked in off the street and they were able to accommodate us with the pram in tow with pleasure, rearranging chairs and helping us to position the pram into a suitable position the bar was by no means quiet, there was a good amount of happy looking punters so this was great they took the time to assist us , the great service didn't end there one of my girls who is autistic can be quite loud and chatty told the waiter that she was so happy about her little bottle of coke that said love on it he played along so well and proceeded to take her to speak to the manager about this glitch in the matrix , it was great she found herself another few bottles that said love and I havnt seen her so happy for a long time they gave us a bottle each for the children free of charge a great gesture everyone from the waiter and waitress to the manager were really excellent and it was a pleasure to be there, plus the food was awesome and everyone left satisfied what more could you want ... until we passed the sweet shop as expected on the way back to the train...

Been to Donegan’s many, many times as your Always Guaranteed the most gorgeous meal. The food is superb & I’ve Never had a bad meal, or even an ok meal ever! We’ve actually been going a lot more often lately as the Sunday Roasts are to die for & a simply Must Go experience for the Roast Beef is just somethin else! As for the Staff, excellent, totally 1st Class & always at hand to make sure your experience there is a good one! All the staff are lovely, but Ivan, oh boy he’s just something else. He’s always on the ball & on top of everything. You just know that he’s been in the restaurant trade for such a long time. Donegan’s just simply, wouldn’t be the same without him!! We’re going to start the New Year of with a bang, and book for Sunday Lunch this coming Sunday for it’s a Must! I just want to say a Very Big Thank You to Ivan & All the Staff for making our trips there in ‘2022’ such fun & so here’s to’2023’ an many more happy times once again at Donegan’s! Thank You All,...

We came here today for Sunday Lunch - a first time visit and it was absolutely excellent. We were served by a gentleman called Ivan who was just fantastic, a special thanks to him for such good service and a special thanks to the chefs as well for the superb food. We had the Sunday specials - chorizo with onion soup to start & also the sticky ribs. Then for the mains my wife and sister had the fish pie special, and I had the roast beef with a massive Yorkshire pudding! It was so tasty and extra gravy, horseradish and any extra drinks were dealt with so quickly, with no issues at all. To finish, the 3 of us shared the apple crumble which again was genuinely one of the best crumbles we’ve ever had. Such friendly service, real hearty home cooked food - what is not to love. Bangors little hidden gem when it comes to a Sunday lunch. Thanks again!

We found Donegans while walking around and we nearly didn't go in because it seemed a bit pricey for pub grub. What a mistake that would have been. Huge portions that are absolutely delicious. We made the mistake of ordering a starter each, which were a very good size, and then when our mains came we struggled to finish them. I had the roast rib of beef, which was presented beautifully, and the knife slid through the beef like butter. The giant Yorkshire pudding, mash, roast potatoes and veg were gorgeous and the extra gravy that was given without being asked for was very appreciated. The rest of our party found their food tasty, well presented and delicious. Would definitely recommend.

I regularly visit here most weekends, and if ever the mood to dine out strikes (which is a lot) Donegans is the first choice! Great portions, exquisite food and choice! Second to none in Bangor! Although the weather is not usually on our side the beer garden remains a great place to chill out and enjoy some grub with a pint. Especially when the sun is shining!
