The food was fairly tasty however the pork fillet was a bit overcooked and dry for my liking. I do wish we had a forewarning about the portion sizes though, we had just finished climbing so we're particularly hungry and had to grab another meal on the way home. The dish in the picture was £21 with no sides so we expected a bit more. If I wasn't a chef I'd say oh well it's fillet but I know that pork fillet is extremely cheap in comparison to beef. My friend got the carbonara which had next to no pancetta/guanciale in it although it did look to be cooked well, classic Italian style with just egg yolks and parmesan (no cream). This was also a really small dish and when you're not full after eating something this dairy heavy and rich then you know its under portioned. The service was very good, our waiter whom I assume is the owner was very polite and obviously cared about his customers.

I recently had the pleasure of dining at Buccelli's with some business guests, and I have to say, it was a truly memorable experience. From the moment we arrived, the staff was incredibly friendly and welcoming, and the atmosphere was cozy and inviting. The food was the highlight of the evening - every dish was cooked to perfection, with top-quality ingredients and exquisite flavors. I was lucky enough to try the panettone pudding, which was simply perfect. My guests were equally impressed with the food, and many of them commented that it was the best Italian cuisine they have ever had in the UK. Bruno and Buccelli’s team, especially Ben, clearly take pride in their work, and it shows in every aspect of the dining experience. If you're looking for top-quality Italian cuisine and exceptional service, look no where else. Grazie mille!

Celebrated my 24th birthday by myself by dining at Buccelli’s. Today, there is a special menu which is the seabass. Starting with the cider, this apple cider has a mellow flavor, not too bitter, not too sweet. Our main course, the seabass, smaller than I expect, nothing special about this dish. Served al cartoccio means that the food is wrapped in foil or wrapping paper. Very salty fish, seems like they spilled salt on the fish. Unacceptable dish! I asked for tap water after that. I also ordered the carbonara because I don’t want to judge this restaurant solely by their special (If the seabass was good, I wouldn’t order the carbonara). The carbonara is also too salty for me, but still in a limit. I think the cheese is too much and it did’t melt enough. Tiramisu is ok. Price: £53 Date: 2 November 2023 Returning? No Try it? No

Visited with a friend at 6pm yesterday, and was quite disappointed with the whole experience.

The Service

The staff were polite, but seemed to have forgotten about us for 10-15 minutes. Considering that we'd been seated outside (and not being a particularly warm night) you'd think that we'd take a little bit more precedence. After calling someone over, they took our Drinks and Food order together.

The Food

The Bruschetta wasn't very good, and inconsistent in flavour. The bread was way over toasted, and felt like I was almost cutting my my mouth on the edges of the sourdough because of how tough the crust was.

After some time our food came, which looked, if I'm being perfectly honest, just 'okay'? I chose the Arrabiata, with added Nduja Sausage. There wasn't alot of effort put in to the presentation of the dish at all, not even a small piece of Basil on top to make it look nice, but honestly, looked like something I could quickly cook up on my lunch break. The pasta itself was missing that 'something' - I wouldn't say it was all that fresh tasting either, nor al dente. The tomato sauce itself was quite tasty. Portioning, really really lacked - I wish I took a photo of the food to show you how small the little bowls we were given, consisting of mostly sauce. It's okay saying "this is homemade, family recipe, love and care for ingredients yadda yadda", if the pasta isn't really that fresh itself.

My friend commented that their Carbonara's Spaghetti appeared more like Noodles, whilst also being quite small in portioning. 3-4 scoops and it was practically gone!

Considering you're an independent business, RIGHT across the road from a Bella Italia, I expected a bit more effort for a £20 dish.

I won't be coming back next time we're...

Went to celebtate my partners birthday in Lancaster and booked to stay overnight in a hotel close by and thought Buccellis would be a good choice for a nice romantic meal. Inital thoughts were that the atmosphere was cold and we when we were directed to our table it was very small and the table was wobbly. The menu did not offer Garlic bread but we adapated and asked for Plenty of garlic on a £11 plain pizza as a starter which they agreed to however charged an extra £1 for the garlic! We also ordered 2 pasta dishes which the waiter warned us how that carbonara was cooked is a roman traditional way which sounded nice but when this arrived it was cold. When we told him it was cold he explained this is how the Romans carbonara is cooked. I advised had I been told it would be served cold i would have chosen something else. When the bill arrived we explained we were very dissatisfied and would not be paying a pound for garlic on the £11 pizza and also due to having our special night ruined we were prepared to pay for our drinks and the 1 main course my partner had however they declined this and they pretended to call the police ! Never in my life had i been so upset then we were told us we would have to pay for everything including the cold carbonara that was returned uneaten. Absolutely awful. evening ruined which was meant to be a special night away and they not once offered a...

My husband and I have eaten at Buccelli's many times and so he decided there was no better place in Lancaster to hold a surprise 60th birthday celebration for me with family and my closest friends.

I later found out that Bruno the owner, had been very accommodating in organising a menu with my husband, with a choice of great options, that were pre-ordered.

The food, wine and service on the evening were fantastic and helped to create an atmosphere that reminded us of times we have spent in Rome, where a meal is an integral part of a celebration.

I was delighted with my surprise celebration especially when I realised where I was going and our guests, several of whom had not visited Buccelli's before, were very impressed with the quality of the food and the range of specialist wines available.

I want to say a very personal thank you to Bruno for all his help in the secret planning of the evening and to his amazing team of Ben, Bonnie, Jake and Theo for making it a night to remember!

For all of you who have never been to Buccelli's, you don't know what you are missing. It's a little piece of Rome in the centre of Lancaster. Whether you go in for lunch, dinner or just a coffee and cannoli, you won't be...
