Best pub in Lancaster. Please god, don't ever refurbish and turn it into Mr Wilmot Brown's wine bar from 80's East Enders, like they did with the John 'O Gaunt. The people who like it, like it how it is. Good beer and wine. Good music. Good mix of unpretentious youngish musos, pretentious old pharts,and semi functional alkies,with a smattering of footy types to keep things grounded and predictable. Even saw a fairly decent scrap last year, but this isn't a regular thing. Shows it's a proper boozer. I loathe this place. No consideration for the people who live near by and are open way passed their advertised hours. According to the internet they closed 15 minutes ago and I can still hear people in the smoking area chatting while I lie in bed having to be up in 6 hours for work. I am moving because of this place, I can't take music until 4 am every Saturday when I have to be rested for work or the drunks bubbling up my street when they close...
